KBO picks and predictions

Saturday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Lotte Giants vs Doosan Bears – Under 6.5 runs (-106)

The total stayed well under on Friday and we should expect another pitchers’ duel here on Saturday as well. Park Se-Woong is coming off a horrific start against the Hanwha Eagles, where he allowed 7 earned runs over 5.0 innings. Before that start, he had not allowed more than 2 runs since the beginning of April when he allowed 4 (3 earned). With a slumping Bears offense next up, this is a perfect bounce back spot for Se-Woong. Choi Won-Joon, on the other hand, has not allowed more than 3 earned runs in a game this season, and has been fairly consistent at keeping his opponent off the scoreboard. The Giants are also 5th in total runs, while the Bears are 8th. For that reason, look for the Bears to struggle to find runs and back the under.

KT Wiz vs Samsung Lions – Under 8.5 runs (-128)

The total looks to be the better play because overall, both starters have been more than serviceable. Je-Seong has allowed 3 earned runs or less in 6 of his 8 starts. His only bad start was a game where he allowed 6 earned runs over 5.1 innings. Suarez on the other hand, has allowed less than 3 earned runs in every one of his starts and has allowed 1 earned run in each of his last 3 starts. The KT Wiz are only 7th in total runs this season, while the Lions are 4th. Despite being 4th in this category, the Lions only managed to average 1.5 runs over their last 2 games. With 2 pitchers on the mound, who have been consistent this season at limiting runs, the under looks to be a solid play.

LG Twins vs SSG Landers ML (-128)

The SSG Landers need the bottom of the 9th, but managed to beat the LG Twins by a score of 5-4 on Friday morning. They are now 28-12-2 on the season and lead the LG Twins by 4 games in the standings. They also have now won 3 games in a row. The SSG Landers will start Lee Tae-Yang on Saturday, who is 3-0 on the season and has an ERA of 1.87. In 10 appearances this season (4 starts), he has allowed 7 earned runs over 33.2 innings.

With the loss on Friday, the LG Twins are now 25-17 on the season. They will counter will Lee Min-Ho on Saturday, who is 3-2 on the season and has an ERA of 5.34. In 7 starts this season he has allowed 18 earned runs over 30.1 innings.

The SSG Landers proved why they are the top team in the league with a come from behind win on Friday and they are in a great spot to continue their win streak on Saturday. They have a clear edge on the mound, as well, so backing them to win will be the play.
