KBO picks and predictions

Sunday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Doosan Bears ML (-120) over Kia Tigers

The Kia Tigers beat the Doosan Bears 8-6 on Saturday morning. The Tigers are now 38-31-1 on the season. They have won 3 games in a row, but still find themselves holding 4th place in the league standings. The Tigers will start Im Gi-Yeong, who is 2-4 and has an ERA of 4.08. In 10 starts he has allowed 26 earned runs over 57.1 innings.

With the loss on Saturday, the Bears are now 31-37-1. They have lost 3 games in a row and have slipped to a tie for 7th place in the league standings. The Bears will counter with Choi Won-Joon, who is 4-5 and has an ERA of 2.97. In 13 starts he has allowed 24 earned runs over 72.2 innings.

Even though the Bears have lost 3 games in a row, Won-Joon has overall been the more consistent pitcher. He has also been solid this season when facing the Tigers, therefore backing the Bears will be the play.

SSG Landers ML (-148) over NC Dinos

The SSG Landers easily beat the NC Dinos 8-1 on Saturday. They are now 45-24-3 in 2022 and remain in 1st place by 3 games. The SSG Landers will start Lee Tae-Yang, who is 4-2 and has an ERA of 2.70. In 16 appearances (10 starts) he has allowed 21 earned runs over 70.0 innings.

With the loss on Saturday, the Dinos are now 27-41-2. They have lost 2 games in a row and are still in 9th place in the league standings. They will counter with Shin Min-Hyeok, who is 2-5 and has an ERA of 4.18. In 11 starts Min-Hyeok has allowed 28 earned runs over 60.1 innings.

This is another game with a huge gap between the starting pitchers. Tae-Yang has been consistent all season, therefore backing the SSG Landers will be the play.

Kiwoom Heroes vs Lotte Giants – Over 7.5 runs (-132)

The total could be the better play here with the dip in form from both Charlie Barnes and Tyler Eppler. Barnes has allowed at least 3 runs in 7 straight starts. In 3 of those starts he was charged with several unearned runs, as well, which would only help the total go over on Sunday if that were to happen again.

On the other side, Eppler has allowed 3 or more runs in 4 straight starts and has now allowed a total of 17 earned runs over his last 20.0 innings (4 starts). With both starters consistently allowing at least a handful of runs per start as of late, and with both bullpens being inconsistent, backing the over looks to be well worth a play on Sunday morning.

Extra KBO picks and predictions for Sunday, June 26th

KT Wiz ML (-116) over LG Twins

The KT Wiz lost on Saturday, but could be in a good spot to bounce back on Sunday. This play will be more about fading LG Twins’ starter, Lee Min-Ho, who has an ERA of 4.69. For that reason, backing the KT Wiz will be the play.

Samsung Lions ML (-160) over Hanwha Eagles

The Samsung Lions picked up a 5-2 win on Saturday and look to be in another good spot on Sunday. They will start Heo Yun-Dong, who has an ERA of 3.38. The Hanwha Eagles will start Nam Ji-Min, wh0 has an ERA of 6.58; therefore, backing the Lions will be the play.
