KBO picks and predictions

Sunday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

NC Dinos vs Kiwoom Heroes – Under 6.5 runs (+108)

The total looks to be the better play for Sunday morning given how few runs these starters have allowed. An Woo-Jin has allowed 4 or more runs in just 3 starts this season. In his last 4 starts, he has allowed a total of 4 runs (3 earned) over 27.0 innings. In 2 starts against the Dinos, he has not allowed a run over 13.0 innings.

On the other side, Koo Chang-Mo has allowed 4 or more runs in just 1 start this season. In every other start, he has been nearly perfect, allowing 1 earned run or less. The Dinos already have one of the worst offenses in the KBO, so facing a guy like Woo-Jin should only magnify their struggles. The Heroes’ offense was obviously able to find success on Saturday, but this is the one starter for the Dinos that can shut them down. For that reason, backing the under will be the play.

LG Twins ML (-205) over Doosan Bears

The LG Twins beat the Doosan Bears on Saturday morning by a score of 8-6. They are now 50-30-1 on the season. The Twins have now won 6 games in a row and are still in 3rd place in the league standings. They will start Casey Kelly on Sunday morning, who is 11-1 on the season and has an ERA of 2.43. In 15 starts this season, he has allowed 25 earned runs over 92.2 innings.

With the loss on Saturday, the Bears are now 34-44-2 on the season. They have lost 2 games in a row and remain in a tie for 6th place in the league standings. The Bears will counter with Lee Young-Ha, who is 6-4 on the season and has an ERA of 3.98. In 16 starts this season, he has allowed 38 earned runs over 86.0 innings.

The Twins are one of the hottest teams in the KBO at the moment and have one of their best starters on the mound for this game. The Twins win almost every time he takes the mound, therefore backing the Twins to continue their win streak will be the play.

SSG Landers vs Samsung Lions – Over 9.5 runs (-118)

The total looks to be the better play here because of the fact that both starters have been inconsistent this season. Oh Won-Seok has allowed 4 or more runs in 5 starts this season. Even in his last 3 starts, he has allowed at least 3 runs in each one. In 1 start against the Lions this season, he allowed 4 earned runs over 5.2 innings.

On the other side, Baek Jung-Hyun has allowed 4 or more runs in 6 starts this season. In 2 starts against the SSG Landers this season, he has allowed 7 earned runs over 10.0 innings. Because the bats for both sides were hot on Saturday, and because both starters have been fairly inconsistent this season, backing the over will be the play.

Extra KBO picks and predictions for Sunday, July 10

Hanwha Eagles ML (+110) over Kia Tigers

The Hanwha Eagles lost on Saturday, but look to be in a better spot on Sunday. They will start Yefry Ramirez, who has an ERA of 2.03. The Kia Tigers will counter with Han Seung-Hyuk, who has an ERA of 5.05, therefore backing the Eagles looks to be worth a play.

Lotte Giants ML (+100) over KT Wiz

The KT Wiz extended their win streak to 7 games on Saturday, beating the Lotte Giants by a score of 3-1. They will start Bae Je-Seong on Sunday, who has an ERA of 4.26. The Giants will counter with Park Se-Woong, who has been slightly better with an ERA of 3.61. For that reason, backing the Giants looks to be worth a small play.
