KBO picks and predictions

Tuesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

LG Twins ML over Hanwha Eagles (-225)

The LG Twins beat the SSG Landers on Sunday morning by a score of 6-2. They are now 81-49-2 on the season and remain in 2nd place in the league standings, now by 3.5 games. The Twins will start Kim Yun-Sik on Tuesday morning, who is 6-5 on the season and has an ERA of 3.50. In 21 starts the season, he has allowed 40 earned runs over 103.0 innings.

The Hanwha Eagles lost to the Doosan Bears on Sunday morning by a score of 5-3. They are now 44-90-2 on the season and are still in last place in the league standings. The Eagles will counter with Moon Dong-Ju, who is 0-2 on the season and has an ERA of 6.75. In 11 appearances (2 starts), he has allowed 14 earned runs over 18.2 innings.

Yun-Sik has been far superior this season and this is also pretty much a must-win for the Twins if they plan to still catch the SSG Landers at the top. For that reason, backing the Twins will be the play.

KT Wiz ML over Doosan Bears (-170)

The Doosan Bears beat the Hanwha Eagles on Sunday morning by a score of 5-3. They are now 56-75-2 on the season and are still in 9th place in the league standings. The Bears will start Choi Won-Joon, who is 8-11 on the season and has an ERA of 3.72. In 27 starts this season, he has allowed 60 earned runs over 145.0 innings.

The KT Wiz beat the NC Dinos on Sunday morning by a score of 9-1. They are now 74-59-2 on the season and are still in 4th place in the league standings. The KT Wiz will counter with Wes Benjamin, who is 3-4 on the season and has an ERA of 2.86. In 14 starts this season, he has allowed 25 earned runs over 78.2 innings.

Both starters have had success this season, but Benjamin is in much better form recently. He has also performed much better against the Bears compared to Won-Joon against the KT Wiz, therefore backing the KT Wiz will be the play.

Kiwoom Heroes ML over NC Dinos (-166)

The Kiwoom Heroes had Sunday morning off, so they are still 78-59-2 on the season and remain in 3rd place in the league standings. The Heroes will start Eric Jokisch on Wednesday morning, who is 10-8 on the season and has an ERA of 2.43. In 28 starts this season, he has allowed 47 earned runs over 174.1 innings.

The NC Dinos lost to the KT Wiz on Sunday morning by a score of 9-1. They are now 60-70-3 on the season and are still in 6th place in the league standings. The Dinos will counter with Shin Min-Hyeok, who is 4-9 on the season and has an ERA of 4.50. In 23 appearances this season (22 starts), he has allowed 56 earned runs over 112.0 innings.

Jokisch has been one of the best and most consistent starters this entire season, while Min-Hyeok has been inconsistent and below average to say the least. For that reason, backing the Heroes will be the play.
