KBO picks and predictions

Wednesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kiwoom Heroes ML (-118) over Kia Tigers

The Kiwoom Heroes beat the Kia Tigers on Tuesday morning by a score of 5-2. They are now 45-28-1 on the season. The Heroes have also won 3 games in a row and are now just 2.0 games behind 1st place. They will start An Woo-Jin, who is 8-4 on the season and has an ERA of 2.34. In 14 starts this season, he has allowed 23 earned runs over 88.1 innings.

With the loss on Tuesday, the Tigers are now 38-33-1 on the season. They have lost 2 games in a row and are still in 4th place in the league standings. The Tigers will counter with Yang Hyeon-Jong, who is 7-2 on the year and has an ERA of 2.83. In 15 starts this season, he has allowed 28 earned runs over 89.0 innings.

The starters are relatively even in this game, however; Woo-Jin has been in better form recently and the Heroes are playing better as a team. For that reason, backing the Heroes will be the play.

KT Wiz vs Samsung Lions – Over 8.5 runs (+104)

The total looks to be the better play here because both starters have had their fair share of rough starts this season. Je-Seong has allowed 4 or more runs in 5 starts this season, including his most recent start, where he allowed 7 earned runs over 5.0 innings to the NC Dinos. In his last 5 starts, he has allowed a total of 18 runs (15 earned) over 29.0 innings.

On the other side, Tae-In has allowed 4 or more runs in 4 of his starts this season. In his last 5 starts, he has allowed a total of 18 earned runs over 29.1 innings. Based on the current form of both starters, and the fact that the KT Wiz offense was crushing the ball on Tuesday, backing the over on Wednesday looks to be worth a play.

SSG Landers ML (-250) over Hanwha Eagles

The Hanwha Eagles picked up a shocking win on Tuesday, beating the SSG Landers by a score of 6-3. They are now 24-47-1 on the season, but are still in last place in the league standings. The Eagles will start Yun Dae-Kyung, who is 3-7 on the season and has an ERA of 6.89. In 14 appearances (13 starts) this season, he has allowed 50 earned runs over 65.1 innings.

With the loss on Tuesday, the SSG Landers are now 46-25-3 on the season. They are still in 1st place in the league standings, but their lead has been cut to 2.0 games now with the Kiwoom Heroes winning on Tuesday. The SSG Landers will start Noh Kyung-Eun on Wednesday morning, who is 3-2 on the season and has an ERA of 2.63. In 5 starts this season, Kyung-Eun has allowed 7 earned runs in 24.0 innings.

The Eagles surprised the SSG Landers on Tuesday with a win, but the SSG Landers have a big advantage on the mound for Wednesday. For that reason, backing the SSG Landers will be the play.

Extra KBO picks and predictions for Wednesday, June 29th

LG Twins ML (-174) over NC Dinos

The NC Dinos were shutout on Tuesday morning and Wednesday does not look to be much better. They will start Lee Jae-Hak, who is 0-7 on the season and has an ERA of 5.12. The Twins will start Kim Yun-Sik, who is 2-3 on the season and has an ERA of 3.99. Because Yun-Sik has been a little more consistent, backing the Twins will be the play.

Doosan Bears vs Lotte Giants – Over 8.5 runs (-132)

The game between the Doosan Bears and Lotte Giants ended in a tie on Tuesday after the game was called in the 8th inning. Wednesday’s game will see 2 decent pitchers take the mound, but both have been having a rough stretch of games recently. For that reason, backing the over looks to be worth a play.
