KBO picks and predictions

Wednesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KT Wiz vs Doosan Bears – Under 8.5 runs (-122)

The total looks to be the better play as both of the starters have an ERA below 3.00. Ko Young-Pyo has allowed 4 or more runs in 5 starts this season. This does include his most recent start where he allowed 5 earned runs over 7.0 innings, but before that start, he had allowed just 4 earned runs in has last 4 starts over 25.1 innings. In 4 starts against the Bears this season, he has allowed 9 earned runs over 28.0 innings.

On the other side, Brandon Waddell has yet to allow more than 4 runs in a game this season. He also has only had 3 starts, but has still allowed less than 3 runs in all 3 of these starts so far. He has not faced the KT Wiz this season, so he should have a slight advantage since the KT Wiz offense has not seen him pitch. Because both starters have been in good form recently, backing the under looks to well worth a play on Wednesday morning.

LG Twins vs Hanwha Eagles – Over 8.5 runs (-136)

The total looks to be the better play on Wednesday morning based on the recent form of the starters in this game. Yefry Ramirez has allowed 4 or more runs in 3 starts this season, but has also done so in each of his last 2 starts. During this stretch, he has allowed 9 earned runs over 9.0 innings. In 2 starts against the Twins, Ramirez has allowed 9 runs (6 earned) over 7.1 innings.

On the other side, Lee Min-Ho has allowed 4 or more runs in 7 starts this season. In his last 5 starts, he has allowed 22 earned runs over 23.0 innings. In 4 starts against the Eagles, he has allowed 12 runs (11 earned) over 17.2 innings. Based on the struggles that both starters have had against each other and their recent form, backing the over looks to be worth a play on Wednesday morning.

Lotte Giants vs NC Dinos – Under 7.5 runs (-102)

The total looks to be the better play because of the fact that both starters have been more than serviceable this season. Charlie Barnes has allowed 4 or more runs in 9 starts this season. He did allow 6 runs (5 earned) in his most recent start over 5.1 innings, but in 2 starts prior to that, he allowed just 2 runs over 13.1 innings. In 2 starts against the Dinos this season, he has allowed 4 earned runs over 14.2 innings.

On the other side, Drew Rucinski has allowed 4 or more runs in 6 starts this season. He allowed 5 earned runs in his most recent start over 6.0 innings, but in 4 starts prior to that, he allowed a total of 4 runs (2 earned) over 25.0 innings. In his lone start against the Giants this season, he allowed 1 run (0 earned) over 6.0 innings. Despite both starters having had a rough start in their most recent outing, they have still had plenty of success against each other, making the under worth a play on Wednesday morning.

Extra KBO picks and predictions for Wednesday, August 24

Kia Tigers ML (-184) over Kiwoom Heroes

The Kia Tigers will start Yang Hyeon-Jong on Wednesday morning, who has an ERA of 3.63. He also has an ERA of 2.08 against the Kiwoom Heroes, so for that reason, backing the Tigers looks to be worth a play for this game.

SSG Landers ML (-190) over Samsung Lions

The SSG Landers will have a huge pitching advantage on Wednesday morning as they will start Lee Tae-Yang, who has an ERA of 3.79, while the Samsung Lions will start Yang Chang-Seop, who has an ERA of 8.27. For that reason, backing the SSG Landers to win looks to be worth a play.
