KBO picks and predictions

Saturday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

SSG Landers vs Hanwha Eagles ML (-145)

The Kia Tigers played to a tie Friday morning with the LG Twins. The tie keeps them in 9th place, but they are so far back from a playoff spot that a late run is unlikely. The Tigers will start Han Seung-Hyuk, who is 0-3 on the season and has an ERA of 4.35.

Like the Tigers, the Eagles are having an awful season. They sit in last place, like they have most of the season, and the only goal that really remains is trying to pass the Tigers. The Eagles will start Ryan Carpenter on Saturday morning. His record is poor at 5-11, but his ERA is a decent 3.92.

Because Carpenter has not been awful, the Eagles look to be a decent play here. For that reason, backing the Eagles will be the play.

KT Wiz ML (-140) vs LG Twins

The KT Wiz had their game canceled on Friday morning against the Kiwoom Heroes. KT still managed to gain 0.5 a game at the top of the table because the teams behind them lost or tied. Now facing the LG Twins will be a massive series, considering the Twins are immediately behind them in the standings. The Wiz will start Ko Young-Pyo on Saturday morning. He has been one of their top pitchers this season, posting a record of 11-4 with an ERA of 2.81.

A tie was the result for the Twins on Friday, a game that ended 2-2 against the Kia Tigers. As mentioned, the KT Wiz were not able to play, so theTwins dropped 0.5 a game. They now trail them by 3.5 games but will have the opportunity to close the gap here. The Twins will start Lim Jun-Hyeung, who has not been quite as good as his counterpart. He has not recorded a decision but still has an ERA of 4.26.

Young-Pyo’s consistency looks to be the biggest difference here. The Wiz also had an extra day of rest, therefore backing the Wiz will be the play here.

Lotte Giants vs SSG Landers – Under 11 runs (-110)

The total could be the better play here because of how each start has fared against their opponent. Jo Yeong-U is 1-0 against the SSG Landers and has not allowed a run against them. However, note that this is only over 2 relief appearances and just 2.0 innings. Even with the small sample size, there is reason to believe that he will pitch decent here.

Lee Seung-Heon has actually not faced the SSG Landers this season, which could give him a small advantage–the reason being the SSG Landers’ lineup have not seen what Seung-Heon offers and even though his overall numbers are not the best, this total just feels a bit too high. For that reason, backing the under will be the play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +452.
