KBO picks and predictions

Saturday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KT Wiz vs NC Dinos ML (-116)

The KT Wiz were shut out on Friday, losing 2-0 to the Lotte Giants. They still have a somewhat comfortable lead in the standings, 5 games clear of the Samsung Lions. The KT Wiz will start Ko Young-Pyo in this game and he has been about average over the course of the season. He is 10-4 on the year, and his ERA of 3.25 is solid.

After a win by the NC Dinos on Friday morning, they continue to hold the 4th seed in the league standings. The Dinos are only 1 game clear of the 5th and final playoff spot, so they still have plenty to play for down the stretch. They will counter with Drew Rucinski, who has easily been one of their best pitchers all season. Rucinski is 12-7 on the season and has a stellar ERA of 2.87.

The Dinos come into this game having won 6 games in a row. They are getting hot at what looks to be the right time, so with one of their best guys on the mound backing the Dinos will be the play here.

Kia Tigers ML (+130) vs LG Twins

The Kia Tigers dropped another game on Friday morning, losing to the Samsung Lions 6-3. They look to be well out of the playoff race but could still help spoil the standings if they are to get some wins down the stretch. The Tigers will take on the LG Twins here and will plan to start Yoon Joong-Hyun. He is actually having a very good season, posting a record of 2-1 with an ERA of 3.18. Joonh-Hyn has also had some success against this Twins’ team, adding some value to Kia in this spot.

The LG Twins also lost on Friday morning against the NC Dinos 6-4. While they are still in prime position for a playoff spot, catching the KT Wiz at the top of the standings is going to be tough. The Twins will start Lee Woo-Chan, who has not been quite as successful. He has not recorded a decision, but his ERA is 4.76.

Woo-Chan has not had much starting experience this season, but he could still throw a good game, however. Joong-Hyun has been more consistent, making the Tigers worth a play to score the upset.

Lotte Giants vs Hanwha Eagles – Under 9.5 runs (-110)

The total could be a better look here, even with Seo Jun-Won having shown signs of struggling. He is 1-0 against this Eagles team, but has an ERA of 4.91. This is over 11.0 innings, during whih he has allowed a total of 6 runs. So, while this is not the best, there is still reason to believe he will pitch decently here–especially because Hanwha is unlikely to have the same success on offense 2 games in a row.

Jang Min-Je has only 1 appearance this season against Lotte and that was out of the bullpen. This was 1 scoreless inning back in May. Min-Je has not allowed more than 2 runs in any of his appearances thus far, so expecting a solid performance is more than reasonable. Both offenses have not been amazing this season. As such, backing a lower-=scoring game is worth a play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +717.
