KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

LG Twins vs Lotte Giants – Under 8.5 runs (+100)

The total looks to be the better play here because both these pitchers have solid numbers. They also fared well when facing each other. Casey Kelly is 1-1 against the Giants but has an elite ERA of 1.38. This is over the span of 2 starts, but he has allowed just 2 runs in 13.0 innings.

As for Park Se-Woong, he is 1-0 against the Twins and has yet to allow a run. This was over just 1 start, but it was 8.0 innings of shutout baseball. Both these offenses have been exactly the same over the last 2 days. Therefore, because we have a better pitching matchup, looking for another lower-scoring game will be the top play.

Samsung Lions ML (-150) vs Kia Tigers

A huge win was the result for the Lions on Wednesday, and they have now won 2 games in a row. They are just 1.5 games behind the KT Wiz for 1st place and could certainly make it even tighter on Thursday. The Lions will start Won Tae-In, who has been one of their best guys all season long. Tae-In is 13-6 on the season and has an ERA of 2.88.

The Tigers, on the other hand, have now lost 2 games in a row. Their season is essentially over and any chance they had to make a late run is all but done, as well. They will counter with Daniel Mengden, who is 5-3 on the year and has an ERA of 4.20. This obviously shows that he has been far less consistent over the course of the season.

The Lions know they cannot afford to drop many more games, especially to the 2nd-worst team in the league. Tae-In has been too good overall, as well, so backing the Lions to win will be the play here.

KT Wiz vs Doosan Bears ML (-124)

The Bears will start Choi Won-Joon on Thursday morning and he looks to be in a very good spot. Won-Joon has been one of the Bears best pitchers by far, posting a record of 12-2 with an ERA of 2.85.

On the other side, the KT Wiz appear to be in trouble. Losing 2 games in a row has shrunk their lead at the top of the standings to just 1.5 games. There are not many games remaining, either, so this is an important game in terms of holding that 1st-place standing. The Wiz will look to So Hyeong-Jun in the spot, but he has not been great this season. He is 5-6 on the year, but his 4.46 ERA is cause for concern.

The Bears appear to be making a move in the standings, while the Wiz are obviously struggling down the stretch. Because Won-Joon has been much more consistent, backing the Bears to hand the Wiz their 3rd consecutive loss looks to be a solid play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +502.
