KBO picks and predictions

Tuesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KT Wiz vs NC Dinos – Under 8.5 (-106)

The total looks to be the better play here because of how each starter has fared against his opponent. Bae Je-Seong is 2-1 when facing the Dinos and has an ERA of 1.50 against them. This is over the span of 3 starts, during which he has allowed 3 runs in 18.0 innings. Each of these starts saw him yield just 1 run, too, so another elite performance looks likely here.

Wes Parsons has been decent when it comes to facing the KT Wiz. He is 0-1 against them and has an ERA of 3.94. This is over the span of 3 starts as well, where he has allowed 7 runs in 16.0 innings. It is worth noting that his last start against the Wiz saw him allow just 1 run in 6.2 innings.

Both offenses have had their struggles over the last couple of games, so backing a lower scoring game looks to be the best play on Tuesday morning.

Doosan Bears vs Samsung Lions – Under 9.5 runs (-120)

The total looks to be the better play in this game because Ariel Miranda has been lights out against the Lions and Mike Montgomery has been much better against the Bears than his overall numbers would suggest. Miranda is 1-0 against the Lions and has not allowed a run. This is over the span of just 1 start, though, in which he pitched 5.0 innings of shutout baseball.

Montgomery is 1-0 against the Bears and has an ERA of 3.27. This is over the span of 2 starts, during which he has allowed 4 runs in 11.0 innings.

Both offenses have not put-up huge numbers in recent games, so with 2 decent pitchers and with what is at stake in this game, backing the under looks to be a solid play.

Kiwoom Heroes ML (+108) vs LG Twins

Another game on Tuesday morning that could have playoff implications will see the Kiwoom Heroes play the LG Twins. The Twins are more than likely going to be in the postseason, but they still have the opportunity to move up the standings. They trail the first-place Wiz by 2.5 games and the 2nd placed Samsung Lions by just 1 game. With about 2 weeks of games to go, a winning streak could go a long way in pushing the Twins into a better playoff spot. The Twins will start Im Chan-Kyu, who is 1-7 on the year and has an ERA of 3.76.

The Kiwoom Heroes also need wins down the stretch if they are going to make it to the postseason. They are in 6th place, sitting 1 game behind the final playoff spot. It does not help that they come into this game having lost 3 in a row, but Tuesday looks to be a good spot for them. That being because they will start An Woo-Jin, who is 6-8 on the year, but has an ERA of 3.35.

Chan-Kyu is certainly a decent pitcher, but his track record against the Heroes is not good. Because he has struggled against the Heroes, backing Kiwoom looks to be the best play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +641.
