KBO picks and predictions

Wednesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KT Wiz vs Kia Tigers – Over 8.5 runs (-112)

The total has to be the better play here as both pitchers have had plenty of struggles when facing each other. So Hyeong-Jun is 0-1 against the Tigers and has an awful ERA of 9.95. This is over 2 starts, where he has allowed 9 runs (7 earned) in 6.1 innings. His last start was noticeably bad, as he lasted just 0.1 innings, while allowing 7 runs (5 earned).

Daniel Mengden has not recorded a decision against thee KT Wiz, but his ERA of 5.06 against them is also a cause for concern. This is over just 1 start, where he allowed 5 runs (3 earned) in 5.1 innings. For how bad these pitchers have been against their opponents, this total appears to be way too low. For that reason, backing the over looks to be the best play.

NC Dinos vs SSG Landers – Over 10.5 runs (-108)

The total looks to be a much better play, considering how much these starters have struggled through out the season. Not only do their overall numbers lack consistency, but both guys have also been poor against their opponent. Shin Min-Hyeok is 2-0 against the SSG Landers, but he has an ugly ERA of 6.19 against them. This is over the span of 4 appearances (3 starts), where he allowed 12 runs (11 earned) in 16.0 innings.

Oh Won-Seok has also been poor against the Dinos, posting a record of 1-0 against them with an ERA of 6.97. This is over the span of 5 appearances (1 start), where he allowed 8 runs in 10.1 innings. That lone start against the Dinos was his worst outing against them, allowing 7 earned runs in just 2.0 innings. With both pitchers clearly struggling this season, the over looks to be more than worth a play.

Kiwoom Heroes vs LG Twins – Over 7.5 (-106)

The total is set low here because Casey Kelly has been that good; however, Choi Won-Tae has not, which could make the over worth a look. Won-Tae is 0-2 against the Twins and has an ERA of 13.86 against them. This is over the span of 3 starts, where he has allowed 23 runs (19 earned) in 12.1 innings.

Kelly on the other hand, is 3-0 against the Heroes and has an ERA of 2.35 against them. This is over the span of 4 starts, where he has allowed 6 runs in 23.0 innings. Even though Kelly is not likely to give up much here, it is not crazy to believe the Twins could hit this number by themselves with Won-Tae on the mound. For that reason, the over looks to be worth a play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +608.
