KBO picks and predictions

Wednesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kiwoom Heroes -1.5 (-122) vs SSG Landers

The Kiwoom Heroes lost again on Tuesday morning to this SSG Landers team 13-10. That loss was their 6th in a row and they look to be in a freefall. Wednesday looks like a good opportunity for a bounce back though because they will be starting Eric Jokisch. He is 13-7 on the season and has an impressive ERA of 2.66.

With a win on Tuesday, the SSG Landers have put themselves right in the mix for the playoffs. They trail the final playoff spot by 1 game, so a win here could go a long way. However, Wednesday’s game might be rough because Jo Yeong-U will be taking the mound. He has struggled all season, posting a record of 2-7 with an abysmal ERA of 7.07.

While it is true that the Heroes are struggling, Jokisch is too strong of a pitcher not to back in this spot. For that reason, taking the Heroes on the run line looks to be a solid play.

LG Twins vs Hanwha Eagles ML (-132)

For being the worst team in the league, the Hanwha Eagles actually do have some games where the offense is clicking. The Eagles will start Ryan Carpenter for Wednesday’s game and he has probably been one of their better pitching options. His 5-10 record might not show it, but he does have a respectable ERA of 3.49.

With the loss on Tuesday, the LG Twins have fallen further into 3rd place. Now 7.5 games behind 1st, it is unlikely they will be able to grab the top seed. They will counter with Bae Jae-June, who is only 1-1 on the year but has an ERA of 6.35.

Backing Hanwha is normally not the best idea, but this is a spot where they look decent. Although Carpenter has had some struggles against the Twins, his overall track record is still good enough to make the Eagles worth a play.

NC Dinos vs Doosan Bears -1.5 (-118)

With the win on Tuesday, the Bears are now in solo 4th place, leading the Dinos by 0.5 games. The Bears will start Walker Lockett, who is having a solid season. He is 8-8 on the season and is sporting an ERA of 2.75.

With the loss on Tuesday, the Dinos have now lost 3 games in a row. They are clinging to the final playoff spot by just 0.5 games over the Kiwoom Heroes, making this a spot where they need a win. The Dinos will start Song Myung-Gi, who has not had a great season at all. He has a record of 7-7 and his ERA is 5.67.

The Bears are in great form at the moment and have the clear pitching advantage in Wednesday’s game. Because Myung-Gi has struggled pretty much the entire season, backing the Bears to win on the run line will be the top play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +490.
