KBO picks and predictions

Friday’s five-game slate sees some of the league’s top pitchers take the mound, including former Oakland Athletics starter Aaron Brooks. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Samsung Lions Moneyline (-146)

After a series win over the Kia Tigers, the Samsung Lions are back on my three-team parlay list. The Lions will kick off their weekend series taking on one of the worst road teams in the KBO. Meet the Lotte Giants, who hold a mediocre 11-19 record away from home this season. The Lions carry an impressive 19-14 home record and with standout support of 5.58 runs per contest. To make matters play in our favor, Samsung will send out 25-year-old Chae-Heung Choi, who is 4-1 on the year with a league-best 1.97 ERA. Wash, rinse, repeat. Take the Lions

Tigers vs. Bears Under 9.5 total runs (-102)

A weekend series between two of the top five teams in the KBO kicks off on Friday with the KIA Tigers hosting the Doosan Bears. Expected to get the start for the Bears is Hui-Kwan Yu. He comes into this game 6-3 on the season, posting an ERA of 4.97. His struggles have picked up recently, allowing 17 runs in his last four starts combined. The good news is he has two elite performances against KIA already this season. In these two starts, he has allowed just two runs over 12.0 innings. For the Tigers, they send out former Athletics pitcher Aaron Brooks. The 30-year-old is 4-3 on the year but has posted an impressive ERA of 2.52. His last four starts have overall been outstanding, allowing just five runs combined. The under is 3-0 in the last three head-to-meetings, and there is no concern that these two pitchers will fail to go the distance. Take the Under.

NC Dinos Moneyline (-210)

The NC Dinos return home off an impressive 9-1 blowout win over the Kiwoom Heroes. The momentum should only continue for the Dinos as they send out former MLB pitcher Mike Wright on Friday. Wright has pitched three quality starts in the last four and is posting a 3.92 ERA on the season. The former Orioles pitcher will get plenty of support at home with the Dinos averaging a league-best 6.48 runs per game at home. On the flip side, it’s a much different story with Wiz starter Hyeong-Jun So. On the road, So is saddled with a horrendous 10.22 ERA in his last three goes. This game has a Dinos victory written all over it.

For those of you looking for bigger returns, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +393.
