The TBS Tuesday Night Game of the Week should be a fun one between National League East rivals. This is the first game of a 3-game series between the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves in a massive NL East showdown. The Braves are spending Bryce Elder to the mound in hopes of coming away with a victory.

Below is my SGP for this NL East matchup, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks.

Braves -1.5 (+114)

Eddie Rosario to record 2+ hits (+240)

Parlay odds: +523

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That isn’t the case here, as Eddie Rosario picking up 2 hits for Atlanta obviously goes with a Braves -1.5 bet.

Braves -1.5 (+114)

The Mets are coming off a 3-game sweep at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays at home over the weekend, a series in which the Mets offense managed to cobble together just 5 total runs. The Mets have cooled off significantly on the offensive side, posting just 15 runs in the last 6 games, cashing the under in 5 of those outings. New York has posted just 5 wins in its last 18 games on the road, while going 6-16 in the last 22 against winning teams. Furthermore, the Mets are 2-5 in their previous 7 games after a scheduled day off.

Following a stunning series loss against the lowly Oakland Athletics, the Braves took 2 of 3 games from the 1st-place Arizona Diamondbacks on the road over the weekend. RHP Bryce Elder was on the short end of one of those losses to the A’s, although he pitched well, surrendering just 1 run across 7 innings with just 5 hits and 3 walks allowed. He has 3 straight quality starts, lasting at least 6 innings in each outing, while serving up just 1 homer over the course of his 6 May outings. Simply put, the Braves have the better offense and pitching, so we’ll take them to cover the run line at home.

Eddie Rosario to record 2+ hits (+240)

Eddie Rosario has been on an absolute tear, raising his batting average nearly 20 percentage points over the last 10 games. Rosario’s hot streak reached its peak over the weekend, as he racked up 6 hits over the course of 3 games against the Diamondbacks, including 7 RBIs. The outfielder has registered multiple hits in 3 of his last 6 games played, so it was surprising to see his price at +240 to record multiple hits again (implied probability of 29%) in this one. Furthermore, Rosario has tremendous career numbers against Carrasco, posting a batting average of .342 with 13 hits and 3 home runs over 38 plate appearances in his career. In a game that should feature plenty of offense, I’ll back Rosario to stay hot at the dish against a pitcher he enjoys facing.
