The MLB Divisional Series continued on Monday with a pair of fascinating matchups, with the Braves evening their series with the Phillies in thrilling fashion, while the Dodgers fell to the Diamondbacks and are now 1 loss away from elimination. While there are plenty of ways to wager on all of the action this postseason, one of the quickest bets you can make is if a run will be scored in the first inning. Even at this point in the season, there is still value to be had in this market, so it’s no wonder that these bets have become very popular over time. If you don’t like sweating out your wagers for 3 hours, this one will take only about 15 minutes.

I’m currently on a 38-22 run with my YRFI/NRFI plays, so let’s keep this momentum going! But before we dive in, don’t forget to check out our MLB picks for each of today’s postseason matchups.

Baltimore Orioles vs Texas Rangers: YRFI (-120)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Seeing as we have only a 2-game slate in store on Tuesday, I have only one pick in the YRFI/NRFI market for the Divisional Series games on tap. And for this pick, I’ll be going with the YRFI in this American League matchup between the Baltimore Orioles and Texas Rangers. This has been a bet that cashed in each of the first 2 games, and I think we’ll get back to the window once again with these offenses in Game 3.

This bet hinges on a pair of offenses that have been teeing off against opposing pitchers all season long, and that’s continued into this series. After a nervy Game 1, the Rangers took advantage of Grayson Rodriguez and the Orioles bullpen en route to putting up 11 runs on Sunday. The top of the Texas order is running extremely hot in this series, and I’d expect the likes of Marcus Semien, Corey Seager and Adolis Garcia to keep putting together quality at-bats against Dean Kremer. The Orioles starter is not one of the stronger arms in their rotation, as Kremer’s ERA of 4.12 and xERA of 4.96 don’t suggest that he’ll have much success against this red-hot lineup. Texas should be able to pounce on Kremer right out of the gate.

On the other side, Nathan Eovaldi proved his prowess in the postseason once again with a dominant effort against the Rays in the Wild Card round. However, this Orioles team boasts a significantly better lineup than a Rays team that was sorely missing Wander Franco at the top of the order. Another positive sign for Baltimore is that the bats really seemed to come alive in Game 2. Gunnar Henderson is swinging it well, Aaron Hicks has 5 RBIs in the series, Austin Hays had a multi-hit Game 2 and Adley Rutschman had much better at-bats on Sunday compared to his Game 1 efforts. I expect this desperate Orioles team to take their best cuts from the start and scratch across an early run, even against a proven postseason starter like Eovaldi.
