MLB Playoffs same game parlay (+979 odds): Los Angeles Dodgers vs Atlanta Braves

Mookie Betts Dodgers

Austin Riley served as the hero in last night’s NLCS Game 1.  He belted a game-tying home run in the 4th inning, then followed that up with a game-winning single in the 9th.  The Dodgers are looking to even things up tonight, and it is sure to be a fantastic matchup to watch unfold.  I have a same game parlay to enhance the excitement, and I will share that here this morning.  Along with this article, be sure to follow Pickswise on Twitter for daily betting content.  You can also follow my personal page for any added plays throughout the postseason.

Dodgers -1.5 (+102)

Mookie Betts 2+ hits (+145)

Under 7.5 (-115)

Parlay odds: +979

We have a 3-leg parlay that is paying out north of 9/1 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.  Let’s break it down:

Dodgers -1.5 (-102)

The Atlanta Braves have now won 4 postseason games in a row.  Having not played since Tuesday, the Braves were able to enjoy a few days off, while the Dodgers played an emotional Game 5 against the Giants on Thursday.  It’s difficult to win a game like that then travel across the country for Game 1 of the next series just 2 days later.  Los Angeles should be ready to roll tonight for Game 2.  It also helps that Max Scherzer will be on the mound.

Scherzer has been nothing short of spectacular in a Dodger uniform, and he is exactly the guy Los Angeles wants on the mound.  The Dodgers are 13-1 in Scherzer’s 14 starts, and the lone defeat was a 1-0 loss in the NLDS.  Look for the Dodgers to give Scherzer some run support this time around en route to a big win.

Mookie Betts 2+ hits (+145)

The second leg of this parlay correlates well with the first.  If Mookie Betts is racking up hits, then the Dodgers should be finding themselves in a favorable position.  After a 4-for-4 performance in Game 5 of the NLDS, Betts went 0-for-4 in last night’s NLCS Game 1.  However, he is more than capable of bouncing back.  In his last 0-for-4 contest in Game 3 of the NLDS, he came back in Game 4 and went 2-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBIs.  Betts is 11-for-28 (.393) with a .900 OPS so far this postseason, and he has 4 multi-hit games through 7 playoff games.  Look for Betts to provide a spark to the Los Angeles offense with a strong day at the plate in this one.

Under 7.5 (-115)

These teams combined for 5 total runs in Game 1, and Game 2 could yield something similar.  Games with Scherzer on the mound tend to be lower-scoring.  Mad Max has a solid 1.46 ERA though 12.1 postseason innings, and Atlanta managed just 6 hits in last night’s contest.  Things won’t get any easier for the Braves at the plate tonight.  On the other side, Ian Anderson is on the mound for the home team.  In his first postseason appearance, he tossed 5.0 scoreless frames against the Brewers.  He allowed just 3 hits and did not walk anyone while recording 6 strikeouts.  This could be another low-scoring affair.  It’s also worth noting that the under is 5-2 in the 7 matchups between these teams this season.
