MLB Sunday mega parlay today 8/7 (+1036 odds): Spencer Strider succeeds

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider (65) reacts after an out against the Philadelphia Phillies in the first inning at Truist Park.

We’ve made it to Sunday! It has been a long week of baseball and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of the week than by going for a big payday. That’s right, we’re back with another mega parlay with a payout of over 10/1 at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Let’s get into our mega parlay for Sunday.

Yankees/Cardinals alternate total under 7.5 (+104)

Braves/Mets first half alternate total under 2.5 (+158)

Padres ML (+116)

Parlay odds: +1036

Let’s break down each of the legs.

We have MLB picks for all 15 of today’s games. Check ’em out!

New York Yankees vs St. Louis Cardinals under 7.5 runs (+104)

These squads have two of the best pitching staffs in the league, and they’re proving that in this series. Game 1 finished with 7 runs, and Game 2 featured just 1 run, so offense has not been much of a factor so far in St. Louis. However, it’s hard to blame the hitters with the excellent pitching matchups, and the series finale will be no different as Frankie Montas will make his Yankees debut against Adam Wainwright.

In Montas’ last 6 starts, the under was 5-1, and opponents averaged just 2.33 runs per game in those 6 games. Wainwright has had very similar outings as the under is 4-2 in his last 6 starts, and opponents averaged just 3.83 runs in that span. Both teams have excellent bullpens that have been playing lights-out this series, so back the under 7.5 in St. Louis.

Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets first half under 2.5 runs (+158)

Spencer Strider and Jacob deGrom are two of the best pitchers in baseball. DeGrom is more well-known and is the best pitcher in baseball today, but Strider has been incredible in his rookie season. In DeGrom’s first start back, he went 5 innings and allowed 1 run and 3 hits while recording 6 strikeouts. The ace had a historic 2021 season and finished with a 1.22 ERA in the first five innings, as it was rare to see him allow more than 1 run in a start.

He will be opposed by Strider, who has burst onto the scene in 2022 and has been an incredible addition to the Braves’ starting rotation. In the first 5 innings this season, Strider has a 2.67 ERA, and opponents have a .192 batting average. The rookie has allowed 1 or 0 runs in 6 of his last 7 starts, so this should be an excellent pitching duel.

San Diego Padres ML over Los Angeles Dodgers (+116)

The Padres might not be underdogs again for the rest of the season, so I’ll take the opportunity while I can. Juan Soto, Josh Bell and Brandon Drury add to an already stacked lineup that features Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth, so they won’t be underdogs for too many more games. Yu Darvish gets the start for San Diego, and the ace has been incredible this season. He has a 3.30 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP through 128.1 innings and has been even better recently.

Since the all-star break, he is 2-0 in 3 starts with a 2.70 ERA and a 36% strikeout rate. San Diego will face Tyler Anderson, who has been having a great season, but he showed some weakness in his last start as the Giants tagged him for 5 runs and 6 hits in 5 innings. At plus odds, it’s hard to turn down the Padres.
