Philadelphia Phillies
Atlanta Braves
PHI Phillies @ ATL Braves · Money Line
PHI Phillies Win
Our Analysis

Philadelphia has their chance. They are 2.5 games behind Atlanta as they start this pivotal series on the road. They lost on Sunday to Pittsburgh, ending a 5-game winning streak and denting their chances. They were shut out too, which is a bad look against the Bucs. With OF Bryce Harper leading the way the Phillies had snuck to 10th in the Majors in scoring. They need all the runs they can get because their bullpen is terrible and they have already blown more than 30 saves this season. Atlanta has some momentum for this series. They have won 3 in a row and 7 of 8. The bats have been the key as they are 7th in scoring and 3rd in homers. Atlanta is kind of like Toronto South as they have multiple players with 30+ homers and 100+ RBIs — their lineup depth is impressive. They will probably look to wait out the Philadelphia starters and pound their bullpen. They are 7-9 against Philly this season.

The best pitching matchup of the series is set for Game 1. Zack Wheeler has slipped in the Cy Young rankings but is still having a strong season. He has a personal 4-game winning streak and the Phillies have won his last 5 starts. He has never been as dominant as he is this season. That includes 3 great starts against the Braves and 1 poor one. The team is 3-1 when he starts against Atlanta. Charlie Morton has given the Braves what they expected but he has not been sharp of late. Atlanta has won only 1 of his last 6 starts and a loss in his last start against last-place Arizona may prove costly. He has had mixed success against the Phillies, going 2-2. Both teams are playing well and have urgency for this one. Atlanta has a better lineup but Wheeler can be the equalizer, which makes this a lean to the Phillies as a small dog. He has pitched well against Atlanta this season and in this critical spot, he can be both effective and pitch deep into the ball game. As a small underdog that is enough to punch the Philly side. Take Philadelphia.

Milwaukee Brewers
St. Louis Cardinals
MIL Brewers @ STL Cardinals · Money Line
STL Cardinals Win
Our Analysis

The Brewers did their work early so they have already clinched the NL Central with a week to go. This could be a potential playoff matchup, though. Milwaukee is on a 3-game winning streak thanks to a home sweep of the Mets but prior to that, they lost 4 in a row at home to the Cardinals. They don’t need these wins but knocking the Cardinals down a peg is motivation, especially after getting outscored 25-10 in that series. The last time St. Louis lost was September 10. That is 16 in a row and 18 of 19. Their magic number for clinching the last NL wild-card is just one. Over this stretch, they have had about one close game per series but mostly this team has been playing some dominating baseball. 3B Nolan Arenado is already over 100 RBIs for the season and 1B Paul Goldschmidt is just one away. They are the most productive corner duo in the league.

The Brewers have given Brandon Woodruff an extra day off before this start and it might be his last of the season. Somehow he has a 9-10 record even though his ERA is 3rd in the Majors. He is 9th in strikeouts and second in batting average against. St. Louis has one of the oldest starting staffs in the league and it works in part because Adam Wainwright has been great this season. The Cardinals have won 11 of his last 12 starts and he is second in the league in wins this season. Only once in that stretch has he pitched fewer than 6 innings. That was in his last start, which was against Milwaukee. This one is really tough to call. I like the Brewers and Woodruff a lot but you can’t discount how well the Cardinals are playing. They are small underdogs in this one and they have won as dogs in 8 games during their current winning streak, including all 4 games against Milwaukee last week on the road. The streak is going to come to an end at some point but you have to either wager for it to keep going or take a pass. Take St. Louis.

Tampa Bay Rays
Houston Astros
TB Rays @ HOU Astros · Money Line
HOU Astros Win
Our Analysis

On Tuesday night, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Houston Astros will begin a 3-game set at Minute Maid Park. The Rays have essentially clinched home-field throughout the American League playoffs with a week remaining in the regular season. The Astros have lost 4 consecutive contests entering play, but they are solidly in control of the American League West division and will be playing meaningful baseball once again this October. In this evening’s series opener, Tampa Bay will send Michael Wacha to the hill. He will be opposed by Jose Urquidy. Wacha has been one of the most hittable arms in Major League Baseball for the majority of the campaign with an abysmal 5.49 ERA, 5.84 xERA, and a 4.61 FIP across 114.2 innings of work in 2021. However, he has been slightly better in his last 6 trips to the mound, posting a 4.30 ERA and a 3.26 FIP. Still, he has surrendered an abundance of hard contact during this recent stretch, making it likely that his brief run of success will come to an abrupt end in the near future. Wacha could regress to his norm as soon as today when he faces a Houston lineup that ranks 5th in both OPS and ISO over the last 2 weeks of action.

Urquidy has been excellent this season for the Astros, turning in a 3.56 ERA, 3.83 xERA, and a 3.93 FIP in 18 starts. He could be in for an excellent outing against a Tampa Bay offense that is likely to stack their lineup with 7 left-handed bats. Counter-intuitively, Urquidy has actually fared much better against left-handed hitters compared to righties during his career. Houston has the better starting pitcher and the hotter offense in tonight’s contest. Both relief units rank in the top 11 in the league in bullpen FIP over the last 30 days, yielding no clear advantage for either side. Yet, bettors should expect the Astros to grab an early lead in this one and never look back. Houston is a strong play this evening as they look to officially clinch a playoff berth.

Cleveland Indians
Kansas City Royals
CLE Indians @ KC Royals · Money Line
CLE Indians Win
Our Analysis

The Indians’ offense is quietly playing pretty well to end the year. They scored eight runs in a big win on Monday, and had a stretch a couple weeks ago where they scored at least 11 runs three times in four games. And with this pitching matchup, I don’t see any reason for Cleveland to be an underdog. Aaron Civale starts for the Indians, and he’s been far better than Royals starter Brady Singer this year. Civale’s WHIP is 1.15, while Singer’s is 1.53. Civale has had a few really rough outings recently, which makes his 3.90 ERA for the year even more impressive. The Indians are also 13-6 when Civale starts this season, which is pretty notable considering the team is a couple games under .500 overall.

Cincinnati Reds
Chicago White Sox
CIN Reds @ CHI White Sox · Money Line
CIN Reds Win
Our Analysis

Now that it no longer really matters, it appears the Reds are back on track. Cincinnati squandered their playoff chances with a rough stretch, and with the Cardinals catching fire. But now they’re picking things up again, as Cincinnati has won four in a row. They picked up a 13-1 victory on Monday. Riley O’Brien will make his major league debut for the Reds here, and it’s anyone’s guess what he’ll look like. But with the way their offense has been playing, it might not matter. In each of those aforementioned four victories, the Reds have scored at least seven runs. White Sox starter Reynaldo Lopez has been solid in limited action, but I’m not buying the small sample size. He was awful in both 2020 and 2019.

Washington Nationals
Colorado Rockies
WAS Nationals @ COL Rockies · Run Line
COL Rockies Win -1.5
Our Analysis

The Rockies at home against Patrick Corbin. Need I say more? Colorado has been really good at home all season, while Corbin has been a disaster all season. The high-priced lefty has an ERA of 5.92, and he just got rocked by the Rockies 10 days ago. Back on September 18th he gave up 13 baserunners and six earned runs in only four innings against Colorado, and that game was in Washington. I can’t even imagine how he’ll fare at Coors Field. Meanwhile Rockies starter Kyle Freeland also pitched against the Nats recently, and he threw six shutout innings. Washington is just 65-92 on the year, and they’ve been abysmal since the all-star break. I don’t think this one will be close.

MLB Parlays

The home of our MLB parlays bets. Parlay bets are a great way to place a wager on multiple MLB games, and with a large slate of games across the season and on each game day, it’s a popular type of bet with MLB bettors. We select our top MLB picks today to create the best value MLB parlay with Moneyline, Run Lines, and Run Totals the most commonly used markets in our MLB parlays bets.

Our MLB best bets will be released at the latest at 11 am EST once all lines have become available with sportsbooks.

What Is An MLB Parlay

A parlay bet is a single bet in which you combine multiple selections. In an MLB parlay you multiply the odds of each individual selection to calculate the parlay odds, so the potential to bet small and win big is great. Similar to an NHL Parlay, MLB Parlays do not have a traditional points spread market, with the run line usually set at +/- 1.5 runs, and the odds change rather than the line itself.

The most commonly wagered markets in MLB parlay bets are Run Lines and Money Lines and are often used to increase the odds when betting on a couple of favorites.

With multiple games played on any given game day, MLB parlays are a great way to have a wager and interest in multiple games on today’s slate.

Our experts analyze every game of the MLB season, leaving no stone unturned in trying to find the best opportunities and strongest selections to make up our MLB parlay bets, all of which can be found here on our MLB Parlay Bets page.

How To Bet On Our MLB Parlay Picks

Betting on MLB picks and parlays is a quick and simple process with any online sportsbook. To create a parlay, you simply have to add multiple selections into your bet slip and click the parlay option before placing your wager.

Comparing odds is always important when placing a wager, but none more so than when placing a parlay bet. In the age of an expanding online sportsbook industry, sportsbooks are eager to custom and display this by competing to provide the best odds across their sportsbook. This is great for the bettor as you can shop around to find the best odds before placing your wager.

In an MLB parlay bet where you may be combining three strong favorites, each at odds of -200 with one online sportsbook, your $100 wager would return $338 if another sportsbook has the same three selections at odds of -150, a marginal difference, but with parlay odds multiplying, the difference in the payout is noticeable, with this scenario returning $463 for a $100 wager, $125 more.

How To Win An MLB Parlay Bet

MLB parlay bets are increasingly popular but can be notoriously tough to land, with teams often splitting MLB series’ and The premise that anyone can beat anyone, on any given day.

So avoiding these potential pitfalls in adding selections to your MLB parlay is the toughest part. Our experts analyze everything from team form and news, matchups, weather conditions, and a wealth of player and team statistics ahead of making all of our MLB predictions to try best to reduce the chances of this.

Here are a couple of popular MLB parlay strategies used to try and increase the value of your odds with the aim of avoiding baseball’s variance and give yourself the best chance of turning a profit long term.

  1. Parlaying large favorites –  Straight wagers on large favorites offer bettors little value, a $100 wager on a -200 favorite will return just $150, a little reward for your risk. Combining two favorites at the same odds of -200 would see your same $100 stake would return $225, a more appealing return for your wager.
  2. Home Favourite and Under – You can parlay the money line and run total in the same game and a large home favorite and the under is a popular choice amongst MLB parlay bettors. Home teams bat last in baseball, and when they have a lead, the game only goes 8.5 innings instead of 9, a plus for unders backers.

Our expert handicappers have a wealth of experience wagering on MLB parlay bets, with tried and tested strategies and analysis in hand, we provide the best free MLB parlay bets throughout the season.

How To Calculate MLB Parlay Odds

An MLB parlay bet is a single wager on multiple MLB Picks, with all selections needing to win for your ticket to cash. One of the main reasons sports bettors wager on MLB parlays is due to a large number of games, and an MLB parlay bet allows you to wager on multiple games at bigger odds than straight wagers.

One aspect of the parlay bet that can confuse sports bettors is the odds of an MLB parlay bet. Where some examples like NFL Parlays will comprise of selections such as Against The Spread or Totals, these are fixed odds of always around +110 or -110, and thus, the parlay odds stay fairly constant too with a 3-team NFL parlay around 6/1 or a 4-team parlay around 12/1.

With MLB parlays, the markets are often not fixed odds, instead, the run line is fixed at +/-1.5 runs or +/- 0.5 runs with the odds changing to reflect the matchup. Similarly, Moneyline odds, which are also common in MLB parlays, will differ depending on the matchup, so calculating parlay odds aren’t as simple.

To calculate parlay odds you must multiply the odds of each selection of the parlay, the easiest form of odds to do this with is decimal.

For Example

If you want to parlay three selections at odds of 3.0, 4.3, and 2.2 you simply multiply the odds of your selections and then by your stake to calculate your winnings.

3.0 x 4.3 x 2.2 = 28.38 odds

28.38 x $50 stake = $1,419 payout.

All online sportsbooks will calculate the parlay odds and potential payouts for your selections if you add them to your bet slip and click on the parlay tab.

Baseball Parlays – What Is An MLB Same Game Parlay

An MLB Same Game Parlay is the same as a regular MLB parlay, a multi-selection single bet, the difference being, the MLB Same Game Parlay sees all of the picks come from the same match rather than a selection from multiple different matches. The big positive of an MLB Same Game Parlay is that by combining multiple picks you can shoot for a bigger win on the game you’re watching or the team you root for, as like all parlays, the odds of your MLB Saem Game Parlay increase with each selection.

MLB Same Game Parlays also allow us to be strategic in our approach and knowing which picks to combine with one another. One of the most popular MLB Same Game Parlay strategies is to add correlated props and picks to the parlay. What we mean by correlated props is choosing picks that are in some way linked to each other, with the outcome of one pick likely to improve the chances of another. For Example, if you like a team in a particular spot because they have a favorable matchup against the starting pitcher, you might envision an easy win for the team in a high-scoring, high-action game. In this spot, you may look to parlay the team to win on the run line, or even an enhanced run spread, say -2.5 runs, along with a number of players to have 2+ hits, to score a run or hit a home run. By combing these picks, if you are right in your analysis that a team can score and cover -.2.5 runs, if they do, the batters will likely be registering plenty of hits and runs themselves.

As with any type of Parlay wager, the more selections you add to your MLB Same Game Parlay, the more difficult it is to win, but also that more the odds will increase. It’s a fine line between shooting for the stars and trying to seek out value in an MLB Parlay so adding 3 or 4 picks is usually a better option for your main play with a sprinkle play on a parlay with more selections than that.

Baseball Parlays – How To Bet On An MLB Same Game Parlay

FanDuel Sportsbook was the first to champion the Same Game Parlay, and while they’re more widely available on sports such as NFL, NBA now, they remain the only sportsbook to offer for Same Game MLB Parlays. While this is likely to change over time, FanDuel is a great option for any Same Game Parlay, with competitive odds and a wide range of MLB Markets included, it has everything you want.

To place an MLB Same Game Parlay, head over to Fan Duel’s Sportsbook site or mobile app, and click on the MLB tab which can be found at the top of the page or on the Sports A-Z list on the left-hand side. One on the MLB page, you will find a list of upcoming games, and under each game, you will see an SGP logo in green to show that SGP markets are currently available on that game.  Clicking on a game will open the markets available for that game including a Same Game Parlay section which will show all of the markets you can add to the Same Game Parlay for that game, which will typically include regular markets such as Money Line, Run Lines, Run Totals, as well as MLB Prop Bets and innings bets.

Each selection you click will be added to your bet slip and the Same Game Parlay odds automatically update each time a pick is added. Once you have added all of your desired selections, enter the amount you wish to wager on the parlay and hit ‘place bet’. And that’s it, you’re on!
