Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The Los Angeles Lakers missed a shot at the buzzer last night as they fell at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers. They will get the chance to bounce back as they welcome the Houston Rockets to close out the nights proceedings. The Rockets should be a favorable opponent, considering that they have lost their last 10 games. But with young and exciting talent on their roster, they always pose a danger. Before jumping into my Rockets vs Lakers Same Game Parlay for tonight’s action, check out our NBA predictions for all of tonight’s games.

Jalen Green 30+ points (+230)

With Kevin Porter Jr. once again listed as day-to-day for the Rockets, Jalen Green might see his usage jump tonight. Against a Los Angeles Lakers squad that is on a second night of a back-to-back, it could lead to a high-scoring night for the guard. The Lakers have given up a few of these of late to opposing guards. Luka Doncic, Trae Young and Jamaal Murray have all managed to score 30 or points in the Lakers’ last 4 contests. Green will have a great chance to join that club.

Green already has a 30-point game in 2023 and has been in fine form in his last couple of outings. He managed 26 and 27 points in those contests respectively. With the Lakers having Thomas Bryant on the inside averaging just 0.5 blocks per game, Green will benefit from the lack of rim protection. He is one of the most athletic guards in the league and I expect him to have plenty of success at getting to the rim and finishing or getting to the free throw line. He is a respectable 79.3% shooter from the charity stripe. Don’t expect him to waste many of those opportunities here.

Alperen Sengun over 4.5 assists (-111)

One player that looks likely to pick up the playmaking responsibilities for the Rockets is Alperen Sengun. The Turkish center has proven himself to be a capable passer of the ball. He is averaging 5.4 assists in the month of January and has hit the over on this line in 3 straight games.

He can be effective in give-and-go scenarios and has an array of post moves that make him a dangerous prospect in the post. That can force opponents to send help his way. He has shown that he is able to pick out the open man in those situations. Look for his passing streak to continue here.

Over 236 (-110)

Do not expect any defense whatsoever in this game. The Rockets just don’t have the talent to compete on that end, the Lakers do to an extent, but they prefer to play a much faster pace in home games this season. LA ranks 2nd in pace with 104.4 possessions per game, while the Rockets are at 102 per game ranking 13th. Defensive efficiency has been a disaster for Houston, they are 28th in the NBA allowing 114.8 points per 100 possessions. Even the low-scoring Clippers put up 121 points against them yesterday. The Lakers have also dropped in the bottom 10 of the NBA in that category since Anthony Davis went down with his injury. Playing on a 2nd day of a back-to-back also contributes to an increase in tempo, I just can’t see either team putting any effort whatsoever on the defensive end here. Back the points.
