Anthony Edwards to score 30+ points (+140)

Whether it was motivation after getting snubbed for the All-Star Game or he’s just maturing as a player, it doesn’t matter much for Anthony Edwards. He has been playing at a high level for a while now and over his last 10 games he’s been carrying the Timberwolves with 29.3 points per game. His efficiency has also gone up to 48% from the field and 40% from three, with the absence of Karl-Anthony Towns being felt less and less by Minnesota during this hot scoring run from Ant-man.

Although he’s averaged only 21.7 points per game against Denver in the 3 meetings this season, his production on the road has been impressive at 24.1 points a night. Minnesota doesn’t have a ton of scoring options with KAT out of the lineup, it’s mostly just Edwards and D’Angelo Russell carrying the scoring load. Denver has shown some flaws defensively lately, particularly in the paint where they’ve allowed 57.3 points per game in their last 3 outings, which is the 4th-highest mark in the NBA. I’m expecting a lot from Edwards in this game.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope over 1.5 made threes (-136)

Caldwell-Pope didn’t play in the Sunday game against Minnesota as head coach Michael Malone decided to rest him along with Jamal Murray, Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon. He’s been in solid scoring form lately, averaging 10.3 points over his last 8 games, while being very efficient from three-point land at almost 42%. Against Minnesota, that number is up to a whopping 75% in 2 meetings, and the last time he faced them he went a perfect 2-for-2 from the perimeter.

Defending the three-ball hasn’t been a strong suit for the Timberwolves this season, as they are only 24th in the NBA in opponent three-point percentage, allowing 36.6% of shots made. Someone should have a big scoring game from the perimeter here. Role players tend to play a lot better at home than on the road so I’m hoping KCP takes full advantage of that.

Aaron Gordon over 6.5 rebounds (+102)

Just like his teammate KCP, Gordon also sat out the game against the Timberwolves over the weekend, and a night off should do him well as he’s been playing heavy minutes in the last few games. I really like his chances of getting to 7 boards here, primarily because he’s averaging 9.5 per game in 2 meetings with Minnesota this season. Another factor worth considering here is that Rudy Gobert is dealing with a groin injury, so even if he plays he will be limited in defending the basket and grabbing rebounds.

Minnesota has been allowing opponents to get 55 rebounds per game in their last 3 played, which is the 4th-worst mark in the entire NBA, so something is clearly off with them in that segment. Gordon has had some big nights on the glass this season, and if the Nuggets decide to rest Jokic once more here, he could very well go for double-digits. With Jokic in the lineup, he should still be capable of getting 7 without many issues.
