Phoenix Suns ML (+138)

It was a triumphant return from the All-Star break for Phoenix on Friday as the Suns beat the Thunder 124-115 at home, covering as 7-point favorites. Kevin Durant is yet to make an appearance for his new team, but that will probably happen some time this week. Cam Payne returned to the lineup with 14 points against OKC, and his contribution off the bench could be key here as he replaces seasoned veteran Chris Paul. The Suns have won 5 of their last 6 games on the road, but against the Bucks they are only 1-5 ATS/SU in the last 6 meetings.

Milwaukee hasn’t missed Giannis Antetokounmpo as much as people thought they would. They blew out the Miami Heat on Friday 128-99 as the Greek Freak exited the game very early due to a quad issue. He’s also bothered by the hand injury he sustained before the break, so there is a good chance he will be rested. If it wasn’t for that I would have no problems backing the Bucks to extend the run, but I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt to the Suns and back them outright to beat Milwaukee. It’s hard to overlook their form as they’ve gone 12-4 SU in their last 16 games and 6-2 SU in their last 8 played in February.

Our NBA Sunday mega parlay has +792 odds!

Devin Booker to score 30+ points (+140)

Devin Booker had a solid night coming out of the all-star break as he dropped 25 in the win over OKC, but I expect more out of him tonight. This could be one of the last game before the Suns insert Kevin Durant into the lineup, so Booker will want to make the most out of the 20+ shots per game he currently takes. His three-ball hasn’t been falling lately, that could change here as the Bucks rank only 15th in opponent 3-point percentage when playing at home. Booker has cleared this line 3 times in the last 5 meetings with the Bucks, and I’m willing to bet he is still haunted by that Finals loss in 2021, so we don’t have to worry about him being motivated. Phoenix also needs a win badly to keep pressure on the Kings, who are 2 games above them in the standings. Ending a 13-game win streak would make a huge statement and there’s no doubt in my mind Booker will show up.

Brook Lopez over 1.5 made threes (-122)

Brook Lopez is 3rd on the Bucks in scoring and he has balled out in 3 of his last 4 games, scoring 17, 33 and 22 points. He has also shot the three-ball better than 50% in those 3 games, while at home for the season he’s making 37.2% of his attempts. Over his last 6 games overall he’s cleared this line 3 times, while against the Suns in the last 10 regular-season meetings he’s done it 5 times. Guarding the perimeter isn’t really a specialty of the Suns this season as they are only 16th in opponent 3-point percentage, allowing 36% of makes. One of Milwaukee’s strategies in tonight’s game will be to lure Deandre Ayton outside the paint to open things up. Lopez has the ability to do just that and with his 3-point percentage going up over the past 2 months I think he’s more than capable of delivering 2 threes today.
