NBA Wednesday same game parlay (+959 odds): Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Luka Doncic Mavericks vs Clippers

It’s going to be another late one for the East coasters tonight but we’re battle-tested at this point. The reason it will be a late one is because the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers are tipping off at 10:00pm ET on TNT. If you have seen any game in this series, then you know that this is must-watch stuff we’re talking about. The Clippers looked left for dead after going 2-0 down but they’re more than back in the series now. They demolished the Mavericks in Game 4 and unless Luka Doncic is closer to 100 percent, it looks like it will happen again tonight. This calls for a same game parlay and here’s where my head is at the moment.

Los Angeles Clippers ML (-340)

I don’t think there is any chance the Clippers lose tonight. Obviously there is no such thing as a lock, no one is saying that. I’m just saying that Luka Doncic looked hurt the other night. If he is limited like that for any game moving forward, I don’t see how the Mavericks can be competitive. They are the definition of a one-trick-pony and if that pony has a hurt neck, the trick stinks. The only thing I am hoping for is that Doncic is well enough to keep this game competitive. A blowout is the last thing we need for this parlay.

Luka Doncic to record 4+ made threes (+170)

So Luka is hurt, but I don’t know how badly off he will be tonight. He’s had a couple of days to rest and he took 24 shots the other night. Even with a busted neck, the guy is shooting. I think we should take the discount of his three-balls. Before the other night, he had taken at least 11 threes in every game of the series with the Clippers. In two of the games, he took 13. Even with his neck all jacked up, he took seven in Game 4. My best guess is that his neck is a little better after two days off and he can get back to jacking up threes. He hit at least five in each of the first three games. He’s got this.

Kawhi Leonard to record 2+ made threes (-230)

Kawhi Leonard is another guy who’s taking a lot of threes. With the exception of the last game, which was a blowout, Leonard has taken at least five threes in the other games and connected with at least two bombs in all but one game of this series. The Clippers don’t normally take a ton of threes as they ranked 14th in the NBA on the season in the metric. Still, if Leonard takes five or six three-point attempts tonight, he should hit at least two.

Maxi Kleber over 1.5 made threes (-125)

Sticking with the three-pointer theme, I like Kleber to hit at least two three-balls tonight. The Mavericks ranked sixth in the NBA on the season in three-point attempts so this is what they do. Kleber isn’t taking double-digit attempts but he took seven in Game 3. In the blowout loss in Game 4, Kleber took only three shots and all were from behind the arc. He missed all of them, but we only care about volume. If this game stays competitive, Kleber can drain at least two threes, as he did in Games 2 and 3.
