Week 9 of the 2023 NFL season wraps up with Monday Night Football between the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Jets. I’m not sure how many more times we need to see New York teams on national television under the lights, but at least we get the Jets this time and not the Giants. The Jets are actually a respectable 4-3, while the Chargers are far from out of it at 3-4.

This is far from the worst primetime matchup we have seen this year, but it also isn’t the best. Whatever the case, we can spice it up with some betting action. Here is my Same Game Parlay for the festivities, which kick off at 8:15 pm ET on ABC. Also be sure to check out our full Chargers vs Jets predictions.

Jets ML (+150)

Garrett Wilson to score a touchdown (+200)

Zach Wilson to record 250+ passing yards (+230)

Parlay odds: +1149

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the entire plan here, as Garrett Wilson scoring a touchdown and Zach Wilson racking up a bunch of passing yards would obviously work well with a Jets victory. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Jets ML (+150)

This has potential to be an ugly game. That generally benefits the underdog, which in this case is the Jets. Week after week they have played competitively with everyone on their schedule other than the Dallas Cowboys. New York should be able to do the same on Monday, and if the home team can just hang around the whole way, it will have a good chance to win it late. The Chargers are in a tough travel spot going to the East Coast and this feels exactly the kind of game in which quarterback Justin Herbert struggles. The Jets’ defense is getting healthier and has been a stout unit pretty much the entire season. A physical defense that can get to the quarterback is always going to be a problem for this mediocre Los Angeles squad. Sound the upset alert – albeit not a big one.

Garrett Wilson to score a touchdown (+200)

I also have Wilson (Garrett) as part of my best MNF touchdown scorer bets, and I’m doubling down on him here. Yes, that’s just how confident I am in his ability to find the endzone. Wilson scored a touchdown in each of the first 2 games this season. The former Ohio State standout has not produced a TD since, but it’s only a matter of time before he does again. That time should be now, because Wilson has remained very productive despite not putting points on the board himself. He has been targeted at least 12 times in 3 of the last 4 games and has made at least 7 receptions in 3 of the 4. Wilson has amassed 90 and 100 yards over the past 2 outings.

Zach Wilson to record 250+ passing yards (+230)

Both of the Wilsons now get an incredibly favorable matchup with the Chargers, who are at the very bottom of the NFL in passing defense – allowing 297.4 ypg through the air on a laughable 8.4 yards per attempt. L.A. has given up 12 passing touchdowns, too. Wilson (Zach) has thrown for at least 240 yards in 2 of the last 4 games, so asking him to reach the 250 mark isn’t overdoing it. Yes, it would be his highest number of the year – but against the Chargers, there is no reason why it can’t be accomplished.
