NFL Week 3 same game parlay (+884 odds): Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs

Justin Herbert Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs game is the best 1pm ET game on the docket this week. There isn’t even a second-best game. It’s either this one or nothing. We’re talking Justin Herbert vs Patrick Mahomes. It’s going to be very hot with temperatures in the mid 80s during the game. Wind will be howling at 17 mph but there’s no chance of precipitation. If I was grading the weather I would give it a B- when grading strictly for football. Still, I don’t think anything can derail this shootout and we should definitely have a same game parlay going.

Justin Herbert 325+ passing yards (+182)

Keenan Allen 100+ receiving yards (+164)

Mike Williams 90+ receiving yards (+200)

Parlay odds: +884

Justin Herbert 325+ passing yards (+182)

The Chargers will go as far as Justin Herbert will take them. If you’ve watched any Chargers football this year then you know, he can take them pretty far. One thing that’s noticeable is the fact that they want to throw the ball in any type of game script. Herbert has thrown the ball a minimum of 41 times in both of the 2 games he’s played so far. That’s a good thing for passing yardage. As a result, he’s thrown for at least 337 yards in both games. The Chiefs have one of the worst defenses I’ve ever seen. That unit is coupled with one of the best offenses in the NFL. This is a recipe for overs and strong passing games if I’ve ever seen one. Herbert should be closing in on 200 passing yards by halftime here. Easy over in my opinion.

Keenan Allen 100+ receiving yards (+164)

Here’s the thing about Keenan Allen; he gets 100 yards every game. Sure it’s a 2-game sample size but that’s all we have of him in Joe Lombardi’s offense. He’s been working with Anthony Lynn over the last few years. Jerry Rice would have had a hard time producing for an Anthony Lynn-led team. Just like Herbert, Allen is set up nicely by the Swiss cheese Kansas City defense. They are 31st in total defense DVOA and I doubt they get much better as the season goes on. They just gave up 113 yards to Marquise Brown on Sunday night. Allen has seen 21 targets so far this season and if he sees anywhere close to 10 this week, he will fly over this number.

Mike Williams 90+ receiving yards (+200)

Mike Williams is another guy who has benefited by having a coach that knows what he is doing. It’s insanity. What should help Williams is the fact that Herbert’s target tree has 2 guys on it that could see 10 targets and Williams is one of them. The aforementioned Allen is the other. So far this season Williams has seen at least 10 targets in both games and last week he went over 90 yards on the volume. In a game where the Chargers could easily be chasing points, this is a great bet at +200.
