This Eastern Conference Final has been a bizarre but very exciting series through just 2 games. The drop of the puck on Monday will start the 12th period of this series in just Game 3. There is very little room out there for the Hurricanes and Panthers to work with and if these games continue to be this close, it will be a treat for fans.

If you’re looking to have some action on this game, check out our Hurricanes vs Panthers SGP below. You can also read our NHL picks for the playoff action.

Florida Panthers ML over Carolina Hurricanes (-120)

With their Game 2 win on Saturday, the Panthers have now won 9 of their last 10 games and they have given bettors and fans in general no reason to jump off the train yet. With wins in the first 2 games of this series, they have 7 wins in their last 9 games against the Hurricanes dating back to April 2021. Florida has had Carolina’s number over the years and that was reinforced last week. Until the Panthers look remotely flappable, they continue to be the reliable play.

The Hurricanes have not been a very good road team in the playoffs over the last couple of seasons and they were 0-6 on the road in the postseason last year. They have been better in these playoffs with a 3-2 record on the road so far, but with just a +1 goal differential. The Panthers have not exactly torn it up at home, but they are playing so well right now that it is too difficult to justify fading them.

Under 6.5 goals (-165)

There have been 9 intermissions in this series yet we are entering Game 3. In what would otherwise be more than 3 full games to this point, there have been only 8 goals scored — an average of less than a goal per period. That would bring a regulation game total of less than 3 goals and the totals will not stay this low but for now, a total of over 6.5 has not been in jeopardy for these teams.

Florida has shut the door since beating Boston and has been winning low-scoring games. Even if the Hurricanes find a way to pull this one out, there is no indication it would be a shootout as goal prevention has been the primary strength of the Hurricanes throughout the regular season and postseason. These teams have not lit up the scoreboard and have played great defense. The matchup of these teams continues to look good for the under.

Carter Verhaeghe over 0.5 goals (+145)

Carter Verhaeghe has been a significant factor in the Panthers’ success in this postseason. He has 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points in 14 playoff games. Any time a player can average a point per game in the playoffs, they are doing something right. Verhaeghe has turned it up lately specifically as he has 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 games. This +145 for their second-top scorer on the team to tally a goal is a great value.

It is not a surprise to see Verhaeghe coming through when the team needs it most in the playoffs as he now has 14 goals and 31 in 38 career playoff games. This is Verhaeghe’s 4th consecutive postseason including games played on the 2020 Stanley Cup champion Lightning team. He is getting to a point where he has the reputation of a good prototypical playoff-type player. The Panthers have played relentlessly and Verhaeghe is in a great spot to continue to be part of it.
