I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. The first round of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs could be close to wrapped up tonight. All 4 series in action are elimination games, making things even more tense than they already were. The best teams in the Eastern Conference — the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes — will take a second stab at a series win. Meanwhile, defending Stanley Cup champions the Avalanche are on the brink of elimination, and the Dallas Stars can spoil the Minnesota Wild’s season. We’re here to add even more enjoyment to an already exciting night with our NHL mega parlay.

Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Boston Bruins -1.5 (+145) over Florida Panthers

The only game we’re leaving out of our NHL mega parlay for tonight’s playoff slate is the Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Islanders. Instead, we’re getting started with a focus on the Bruins, which is likely no surprise. Similar to Connor McDavid’s historical season, there isn’t much that hasn’t been said about Boston. However, it can’t be overlooked that the Bruins set the record for wins and points in a single season.

They also just got captain Patrice Bergeron back on the ice after missing the first 4 games of this series. Right on queue, he scored a goal in Game 5. The Bruins had the opportunity to close out the series in Boston, but surprisingly failed to do so. Despite that, I still think they can get it done in Florida. When this series shifted to South Beach for Game 3 and Game 4, the Bru Crew dominated. They won both of those games by multiple goals, and ultimately outscored the Panthers 10-4. I don’t expect goaltender Linus Ullmark to make another blunder like he did in overtime in Game 5, which should lead to the Bruins advancing to the second round.

Minnesota Wild ML (-115) over Dallas Stars

This Central Division rivalry has been a much more back-and-forth serie. The Wild and Stars were battling the Colorado Avalanche for the division crown until the bitter end, but both ultimately fell just short. With such similar records in the regular season, it’s no surprised to see this series having such close games. I’m willing to trust Minnesota on home ice. When this series shifted up north for Game 3, the Wild cruised through the Stars in a 5-1 victory.

If not for a poor coaching decision in Game 2, it would likely be the Wild leading this series 3-2. They inexplicably had Marc-Andre Fleury in net, despite Filip Gustavsson having been one of the best goaltenders all season. They quickly made the switch back, which led to that aforementioned 5-1 win. Minnesota also won the last meeting between these teams in the regular season, which was also at home. Now on the brink of elimination, I’ll trust Kirill Kaprizov to force a Game 7.

Colorado Avalanche -1.5 (+165) over Seattle Kraken

To wrap up this NHL mega parlay we have the defending Stanley Cup champs. Not many thought we’d be seeing them on the brink of elimination, but here we are. In just their second season as a franchise, the Kraken have no doubt impressed. However, the Avs will be getting Cale Makar back from his suspension, while Seattle may still be without leading pointscorer Jared McCann.

Not to take anything away from the Kraken, but Colorado simply has the talent to force a Game 7. Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen had 100-point seasons, while McCann led Seattle with just 70 points. The Kraken also haven’t been flawless in this series either. When they lost Game 3, they allowed 6 goals to the Avs, and they also blew a 2-0 lead in Game 2. This clearly isn’t the dominant Colorado squad of 2022, but they have the skating talent to force this series back to Denver.
