I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. If you’re seeing just 3 games on the ice tonight and thinking there’s no opportunity for a huge payout, we have you covered. Despite the limited options, we’ve found a pair of extremely valuable plays. Better yet, we only need 2 legs to cash. Both of our matchups take place out west, so we’ll have to wait a little longer, but as always, we expect these teams to make it worth it.

Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

New Jersey Devils -1.5 & under 6.5 (+290) over Anaheim Ducks

First up is one of the most severe mismatches we could possibly ask for. The Devils have been one of the strongest teams in the NHL and have proved that their surprising start was no accident. They remain one of the top 3 teams in the Eastern Conference, while the Ducks have the 2nd-fewest wins in the league. One of their many losses (26 to be exact) came at the hands of the Devils.

That was a 4-2 win for Jersey, which is the exact type of combination we’re looking for to hit this play. The more clear part of this combo prop is Jack Hughes and the Devils being able to win by multiple goals. However, we’re not expecting them to go too crazy on the scoreboard, as teams that head out to Anaheim generally come out with sluggish starts. This is also the first game of New Jersey’s 4-game west-coast road trip. We’re anticipating a low-scoring first period with the Devils taking care of things later on in a 4-1 type of game.

Edmonton Oilers -1.5 & over 6.5 (+300) over San Jose Sharks

Our second play is another combination play and in one of the locations for the Devils’ future games out west. It’ll be the Oilers in San Jose tonight, who are coming off a huge win. They absolutely crushed the Ducks 6-2. Obviously that isn’t the most impressive team to defeat, but the Sharks aren’t much better. They’re just 1 spot above Anaheim in the Pacific Division with just 1 more win. After starting the year 0-5-0, San Jose has simply never found a groove and still has just 13 wins. On Friday the 13th, we’re not expecting much luck for them.

On the flip side, that recent win should help the Oilers find a groove, which they need to do. They’re still allowing too many goals, which goes hand-in-hand with the high-scoring portion of this play. Timo Meier and the Sharks should still be able to find the net 2 or 3 times. Thankfully, the Oilers have the league’s top 2 pointscorers in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to still overcome that to win by multiple goals.

Don’t miss out on our NHL player props for tonight’s action!
