I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. After just 2 games last night, we’re back with a massive 15-game slate tonight. Let’s capitalize on the action as there is no NHL action on Thanksgiving Thursday. We can profit enough for more than a couple days with our mega parlay. We’ve broken down the slate and pieced together our favorite plays. It can be difficult to pinpoint the most advantageous spots with so many games, and it may surprise you where we’re targeting for tonight’s slate. Before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for today’s action.

Toronto Maple Leafs ML (+118) over New Jersey Devils

Possibly the most interesting of any play available tonight may be the first leg of our mega parlay. The Devils have been the surprise story of the NHL so far this season, sitting atop the Metro Division at 16-3-0. New Jersey has won their last 12 games after defeating the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night. However, the Maple Leafs have the talent to spoil this winning streak and feel-good story. This isn’t just about a team that is “due” for a loss either.

Toronto still rosters last season’s leading goalscorer in Auston Matthews, and captain John Tavares seemed to drink from the fountain of youth during the offseason. Along with Mitch Marner, they are the 2 leading the team in points. The Leafs have also been more than a 1-trick pony with Matthews as well. Along with William Nylander, they have 4 skaters with over 20 points. Their recent matchup saw them score just 2 goals, but that was also against the elite goaltending of Ilya Sorokin and the New York Islanders. It’s going to be a tougher go of things this time around, but Toronto defeated New Jersey in all 3 meetings last season by a combined score of 16-7, and can remind them of that tonight.

Florida Panthers 3-way ML (+136) over Boston Bruins

That’s right, we’re not fading the other top team in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins have also been a buzzsaw and are sitting atop the Atlantic Division at 17-2-0. While the Panthers are 9-8-2, they seem to have things clicking after a slow start. Matthew Tkachuk has been an incredible addition this season, and Aleksander Barkov is back from his illness. Florida was also one of a handful of teams not in action Monday night, and the extra rest could prove beneficial.

It also helps that they’ll be taking on Boston outside of TD Garden, which is why the game is listed as a pick ‘em. The Panthers have the firepower to take this matchup in regulation, and each team has been a part of just 3 overtime games so far this season. The Bruins’ biggest strength so far this season has been their power play. However, Florida is one of the few teams that can keep up with them in the scoring department, especially on home ice. They also have the ability to keep the pressure on Boston goaltender Linus Ullmark. The Panthers average 40.8 shots per game, the most in the NHL by a landslide. As long as Florida limits penalties and therefore power play opportunities for the Bruins, they end the Bruins’ streak.

Dallas Stars -1.5 (-115) over Chicago Blackhawks

Certainly the least surprising of our 3 plays takes place in Dallas. The Stars are taking on a Blackhawks team that has looked dreadful recently. They’ve lost each of their last 4 games and are 2-6-2 over their last 10 contests. Although the Stars just lost their last matchup on Monday night, that was a close 3-2 shootout game against the defending Stanley Cup-champion Colorado Avalanche. If they can hold Nathan MacKinnon scoreless and the Avs to just 2 goals, they can certainly handle the Blackhawks.

Chicago relies almost entirely on Patrick Kane to carry the team at this point. He’s a future Hall-of-Famer, but the Stars have been stout on both ends of the ice this year. They’ve been known as a defensive team with Jake Oettinger in net, and that still holds true. However, Jason Robertson has made them much more proficient on the offensive end. He scored both of their goals against the Avs on Monday, and now has 29 points on the season. That’s behind only superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers. Along with the experience and leadership of Joe Pavelski and captain Jamie Benn, Dallas should take care of business with ease tonight.

Wednesday’s NHL mega parlay (11/23)

Maple Leafs ML (+118)

Panthers 3-way ML (+136)

Stars -1.5 (-115)
