Now it’s time to turn our attention to Week 10. This slate is another compelling one, with plenty of intriguing matchups. The opening lines were released at most sportsbooks on Sunday, so let’s take a look at these openers and give our first impressions.

Best early bets for NCAAF Week 10

LSU +13.5 (-110) vs Alabama

The Tigers have gotten better each week since an embarrassing loss to Florida State to open the season. And even in that game, LSU had plenty of chances to win down the stretch. This offense is humming at the moment, as Jayden Daniels looks as comfortable as ever under center. Comparatively, Alabama was able to shake off its loss against Tennessee thanks to a convincing win over Mississippi State on October 22. Bryce Young and the Crimson Tide should see success on offense, but with how Alabama’s secondary has struggled, they could be in for a long night defensively here. In a game under the lights in Death Valley, I’ll gladly take the points with the home underdog.

Tennessee +9.5 (-110) vs Georgia

In what could be the premier regular season game of the year, Tennessee has a massive opportunity to take down the No. 1 team in the nation and sure up its spot in the College Football Playoff. The Volunteers might have the most explosive offense in the nation, and that’ll be necessary against a talented Georgia defense. And while this Bulldogs team is absolutely rolling on offense, Georgia’s losses on the defensive side of the ball have been felt. This team has not faced anything like Tennessee this year, and I’d expect this line to keep moving closer to a touchdown as Saturday approaches.

West Virginia +6 (-110) vs Iowa State

This line confuses me, mainly because of Iowa State’s extremely poor record in one possession games under coach Matt Campbell. The Cyclones haven’t had an ideal season and that continued on Saturday with a 2-touchdown defeat at the hands of Oklahoma. Iowa State’s offense has been unable to sustain anything in the passing game, which is how you beat this below average West Virginia defense. On the other side, West Virginia can score points in bunches against nearly any opponent, as the Mountaineers have shown against Baylor and TCU recently. I’m expecting JT Daniels and company to keep this one close, and I wouldn’t be shocked if West Virginia won outright.
