Week 13 of the 2024 NFL campaign has already given us 3 games, highlighted by another late Chicago Bears meltdown that resulted in a Thanksgiving loss to the Detroit Lions. But – just like the holiday season – this week is nowhere near over just yet. In fact, prior to Sunday, we have a Black Friday special on our hands between the AFC West rival Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs. Las Vegas comes in at 2-9, hoping to spoil the #1 seed hopes of a 10-1 Kansas City squad. Aidan O’Connell over 211.5 passing yards (-110)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Aidan O’Connell may be a backup quarterback in this league by trade, but he knows what he’s doing as a starter – which will be his role on Friday now that Gardner Minshew II is out for the year. The Purdue product exceeded this 211.5 number 6 times in 11 games last season and finished with 227 yards last month against the vaunted Pittsburgh Steelers defense.

Las Vegas has no qualms about letting O’Connell air it out when he is under center. He attempted 40 passes against Pittsburgh and last season he had games with 39, 41 and 47 attempts – plus 4 others with at least 31. A lot of that is due to the Raiders generally playing from behind – which will likely be the case against the Chiefs on Friday, as well. Kansas City’s secondary has been mediocre at best in 2024 and its pass rush is tied for the 5th-fewest sacks with 21. All things considered, O’Connell should be able to operate with plenty of success on Friday.

Travis Kelce over 55.5 receiving yards (-110)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

It’s true that Kelce has underwhelmed this season and is not getting any younger, but I’m by no means willing to wave the white flag on his career – and certainly not on his 2024 campaign. The good news is that the 35-year-old has been more productive of late. He has gotten at least 8 targets in 4 of the last 5 games, including at least 12 on 3 of those occasions. After making 8 total receptions in the first 3 contests, he has made at least 6 in 6 of the last 8. During this stretch, he has yardage totals of 89, 70, 90, 100, 64 and 62 yards.

Asking him to get at least 56 against the Raiders should not be too much. After all, Mr. Swift torched them for 90 yards and a touchdown on 10 catches (12 targets) in the first head-to-head matchup this year. It’s also worth noting that Las Vegas has allowed the third-most fantasy points to tight ends this season, so Kelce should be in line for another productive day at the office.
