Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League for the first time since the opening week of the season with Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Burnley, overtaking long-time leaders Arsenal. The Gunners will have a chance to reclaim top spot when they host struggling Newcastle this weekend, while the Citizens are in FA Cup semi-final action against Southampton.

EPL best bet: Everton ML over West Ham (+195)

Everton continue their fight for a European spot when manager David Moyes returns to his former club West Ham on Saturday. The Toffees entered the weekend 2 points adrift of 7th place, while relegation-threatened West Ham have a 2-point advantage over Tottenham in 18th. The Hammers have only lost once in their last 5 games, and will be hoping to at least avoid defeat as they battle to beat the drop.
Everton lost 2-1 at home to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby last weekend, but their away form has been strong . In fact, they have won 4 and lost only 1 of their last 7 road matches, and they look the bet to claim 3 points.
EPL best bet: Tottenham ML over Wolves (-135)

Tottenham Hotspur are in trouble. They head into the weekend 2 points adrift of safety and are without a Premier League win since December. However, there was certainly room for optimism in last weekend’s 2-2 draw against Brighton, as Roberto De Zerbi’s men played with grit and determination while Xavi Simons produced a moment of brilliance for Spurs’ 2nd goal. A similar effort gives Tottenham a chance against relegated Wolves.
The Championship beckons for Wolves, who have conceded 7 goals in losing their last 2 Premier League matches. Their form has dwindled under Rob Edwards and Spurs can take advantage.

EPL best bet: Liverpool ML over Crystal Palace and Over 2.5 (-111)

Liverpool took a huge step towards securing Champions League qualification with last week’s Merseyside derby win and can cement their top-5 status when Crystal Palace head to Anfield. With Alexander Isak returning to fitness and Mohamed Salah back in the goals, it’s worth backing Liverpool to find the net on multiple occasions. The Reds have scored 11 goals in their last 4 domestic home matches.
Palace will have 1 eye on their Europa Conference League semi-final against Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday and with nothing to play for domestically, manager Oliver Glasner is likely to rotate his squad.

The pressure is mounting on Arsenal and Mikel Arteta after their significant lead at the top of the Premier League disappeared following Manchester City’s win at Burnley. Expect the atmosphere at the Emirates to be nervy this weekend, with Arsenal in desperate need of a win to quiet the outside noise.
Fortunately, visitors Newcastle have struggled for form lately, with consecutive defeats against Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Sunderland seeing them slip to 14th in the Premier League. A home win seems likely and will give Arsenal a big lift heading into the final 4 games of the league season, but the Gunners have kept just 2 clean sheets in 6 league matches, and it would be no surprise if Newcastle manage to find the net in defeat.
