Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Total Goals Pick
Over 2.5 goals(-144)

Wolves’ relegation to the Championship was confirmed on Monday as West Ham claimed a point against Crystal Palace, but the Wanderers can still have a further say in the relegation battle when they host Spurs on Saturday. Only a win can lift 18th-placed Tottenham out of the bottom 3  this weekend, and that may not be enough, depending on how the Hammers fare against Everton. Spurs did show their first signs of improvement since Roberto De Zerbi took charge in a 2-2 draw with Brighton last time out, but Wolves can’t be overlooked here.

It is always hard to gauge how a team will react to relegation, but it seems likely there won’t be a huge effect on Wolves, as the writing has been on the wall for pretty much the entire season. Indeed, it could even have a positive impact now that the pressure is officially off for the final 5 games. Spurs are the odds-on favourites to win but offer little appeal at the prices considering they haven’t won a Premier League game since December.

The best angle for our main bet looks to be backing over 2.5 goals, as both of these sides have been awful at the back. Wolves have shipped 61 goals in their 33 league games, and Spurs have conceded 53, while Tottenham have conceded at least twice in 10 of their last 12 games across all competitions. Wolves have conceded 12 in their last 4 games.

Wolves vs Spurs prediction: Over 2.5 goals (-144) available at time of publishing. Playable to -150.
