Rashad Phillips' March Madness Elite Eight Picks and Predictions: USC won't go down without a fight

Two down, two to go. Houston and Baylor punched their tickets to the Final Four last night, and tonight two more teams will book their slots on the court for Saturday. We’ve seen some great games throughout the entire tournament, and I’m expecting fireworks in both matchups tonight and contests that are a lot closer than people might expect.

Make sure you also read the Pickswise team’s thoughts on the side and total for the Elite Eight matchups.

USC Trojans vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs

USC has been super impressive throughout the tournament and their guard play has been spectacular as well. The Trojans’ length will give the Zags some problems early. I do believe that the Zags will eventually figure it out and make it to the Final Four, but I’m expecting this to be a real close contest.

PICK: USC +9

UCLA Bruins vs. Michigan Wolverines

Michigan looks destined to reach the Final Four at this point, but so does UCLA. I believe this game will come down to who can get stops on defense. I think the answer to that will be Michigan and that the Wolverines will prevail, but UCLA won’t go down easy.

PICK: UCLA +7.5
