College Football pick today: Syracuse Orange +14 over Clemson Tigers (-110), 12:00 pm ET

Much of the storyline of this game will be centered around how well can Clemson’s improved offense perform against an Orange defense that is statistically one of the best in the nation. It’s fair to say Syracuse hasn’t played anyone of note yet. Last week’s game against NC State wasn’t equitable despite the Wolfpack’s #15 ranking due to the fact that their starting quarterback Devin Leary didn’t play in the game due to injury.

Clemson has dominated weaker opponents this year and covered big numbers, but against equitable teams, they’ve done enough to win and cover short numbers. Their games against Wake Forest, NC State and Florida State were under double-digit spreads. For that reason, backing the Orange to cover will be the play.

NHL pick today: Edmonton Oilers ML vs St. Louis Blues (-155), 4:00 pm ET

This is one of the toughest matchups to handicap this weekend, but the Oilers look set to slip by St. Louis on Saturday. These are 2 playoff teams from last season, with Edmonton making it to the Western Conference Finals and the Blues losing one round prior to that.

Edmonton will continue to be one of the perennial favorites to win the Stanley Cup Finals, so as long as Connor McDavid is on the team to work in tandem with Leon Draisaitl. They will get to remain at home for this matchup, whereas the Blues are traveling from Seattle where they were just forced into overtime by the Kraken. The Oilers went 3-0 against the Blues last season, and that trend should continue on Saturday.

MLB pick today: Houston Astros ML over New York Yankees (+125), 5:07 pm ET

The reason why the Astros will win this game is simple: Cristian Javier. The starter-turned-bullpen pitcher will return to the starting role for Game 3. Javier was incredible against the Yankees in the regular season. He made 2 starts against New York and allowed only 1 run and 2 hits in 12 innings while recording 16 strikeouts.

The heart of the Yankees order, which is made of Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, Gleyber Torres and Josh Donaldson, are a combined 1-for-23 with 10 strikeouts against the right-hander, so for that reason, backing the Astros to win will be the play.

NBA pick today: Toronto Raptors ML over Miami Heat (+120), 8:10 pm ET

The Miami Heat have got off to a tough start this season with 2 losses to the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics. Things will not get any easier tonight as the Toronto Raptors visit Miami.

The Raptors should be able to match up well defensively against the Heat. Tyler Herro has been the leading scorer for the hosts, but he will have to go up against several great wing defenders here. If the Raptors can contain Herro, the Heat offense could stutter. The hosts are just 24th in the NBA in offensive rating this season and lack the depth to allow a poor scoring night from one of their starters. For that reason, backing the Raptors to win on the road looks to be the best play.
