Newcastle vs Burnley over 3.5 goals (+138), 10:00 am ET

The Magpies host Burnley at St James’ Park on Saturday and it could pay to back Eddie Howe’s men to put on a show with plenty of goals. Newcastle fielded a much-changed side against Manchester City in the EFL Cup, but that didn’t stop the Toon Army coming away as 1-0 winners and that is a measure of the Magpies’ strength at home. Howe’s team are favorites to beat the mighty PSG in the Champions League at St. James’ Park next week and they should take care of Burnley in comfortable fashion.

The Clarets have collected only one point from their opening five Premier League matches and they have taken a rather naive approach under rookie boss Vincent Kompany. Burnley have conceded 13 goals in their opening five top-flight matches and they could be on the end of another heavy defeat on the banks of the Tyne, especially after Newcastle crushed Sheffield United 8-0 last weekend. Backing over 3.5 goals in this game at plus-money odds looks the smart bet.

Luton or tie double chance vs Everton (+130), 10:00 am ET

Everton followed last weekend’s Premier League victory over Brentford with a win at Aston Villa in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, but the Toffees look too short in the betting when they welcome Luton to Goodison Park. Of course, EPL fixtures don’t come much kinder than a home tie against Luton, but the Hatters have been competitive in recent contests against West Ham, Fulham and Wolves and they aren’t without hope on Saturday.

Everton have adopted a fairly direct approach under Sean Dyche and Luton should have no issues dealing with aerial threats. The Toffees are yet to score a single home goal in the EPL this season and they could only manage one effort on target in their latest Premier League Goodison Park contest against Arsenal. Backing Luton and the tie looks a solid play.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace under 2.5 (+110), 10:00 pm ET

Manchester United were comfortable 3-0 winners over Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup in midweek, but the repeat fixture in the Premier League may not go as well. United made seven changes for that Old Trafford contest, but still fielded a side containing Casemiro, Sofyan Amrabat and Raphael Varane, and Roy Hodgson’s alterations probably had a bigger bearing on the result. The Eagles left out Eberechi Eze, Joachim Andersen, Marc Guehi and Odsonne Edouard on Tuesday night and the south Londoners can prove tougher to crack with that quartet restored to the starting lineup.
