An 8-game NBA slate starting at 1:00 pm ET takes center stage along with March Madness. Let’s dive into my top NBA player prop bet for Saturday.

Malik Monk, SG, SAC, Over 16.5 points (-120)

Odds available at ESPN BET at time of publishing.

Malik Monk is starting to run away with the 6th Man of the Year Award. He has jumped from -400 earlier this week to currently -1100 on FanDuel. Five 20-point games in his last 10 played sure help. He is averaging over 15 field-goal attempts a game during that span but has yet to figure it out from 3-point range. The Kentucky product is shooting below 30% in his last 10 games.

Monk and the Kings will take on the Orlando Magic as 3.5-point underdogs on the road. The Magic’s defense is stellar, but we are getting a soft number. Monk has topped at least 17 points in 28 of 44 games in which he has seen at least 25 minutes. Closing the game helps.

Monk’s 2nd-quarter rotation without De’Aaron Fox is where he can tee off. The volume is expected to be there in a close game against a difficult opponent, but this price is enticing at -120 (other major books are offering -130).

In addition to having a unit on the over of 16.5 points, I will be laddering this prop to 20+ at +165 on FanDuel.
