Wednesday night in the NBA brings us another 9-game slate and no shortage of storylines. The Lakers, Raptors, Bucks, Thunder, Wizards, T-Wolves and Cavaliers are all on the tail end of a back-to-backs. Oklahoma City squares off against the Celtics in Boston as both #1 seeds in each conference meet for the second time this season. The first matchup resulted in a 4-point Thunder victory. Let’s dive into my favorite NBA player prop bet of the day, and make sure you also read our experts’ NBA picks for tonight’s matchups.

Jrue Holiday, BOS, Over 8.5 rebounds + assists (-135)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

Many of the games tonight do not interest me, but this one does. It’s a potential NBA Finals matchup and the top 2 teams record wise. This number for Holiday is fully juiced at 35 cents and even at 9.5 on some books. At face value, this 8.5 is weak. Holiday averages 10.35 R+A per game this season and 11.25 per 36 minutes. Jaylen Brown is currently questionable, but if he plays then I think he will get the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander assignment. Brown recently did an other-worldly job defending Damian Lillard and Zion Williamson, so locking up SGA would be another merit badge for Brown down this stretch. That would place Holiday on Josh Giddey and Luguentz Dort defensively and put him in good position for rebounds in either situation. Guarding Dort, he will be further away from the rim defending the 3 and it fits in with his largest chunk of rebounds (17.65% of his rebounds are long mid range/above the break 3s).

Holiday is averaging 4 rpg since March 1 and logged 5 against OKC earlier in the season in just 30 minutes of play. His assist portfolio is fairly widespread, but 45% of his assists are coming at the rim and corner 3s — where OKC struggles. The Thunder allow the 3rd-most corner 3-point attempts and  8th-most field-goal attempts in the restricted area. This has hit in 10 of 14 (71%) since the all-star break and in 20 of 31 at home (64%). 1.5u.
