Rudy Gobert over 10.5 points (-115)
The Houston Rockets were able to expose one clear weakness on the Golden State Warriors, and it was their lack of size. It is something the Timberwolves should be well positioned to explore thanks to the presence of Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle. Gobert can struggle to defend in the open court so to be able to stay on the court he needs to make sure he is not a liability offensively.
In his last outing, the Frenchman was able to pull down 9 offensive rebounds, which helped him drop an impressive 27 points. Look for him to be similarly aggressive on the offensive glass, looking to convert any rebounds that he pulls down. So far during these playoffs, no team has been giving up more offensive rebounds per game than the Warriors, so Gobert should be able to feast, especially against an undersized Draymond Green or Kevon Looney. Look for that to convert to a strong scoring night for him here. He has hit the over on this number in 2 of his last 3 games against them.
Check out our Warriors vs Timberwolves best bet for tonight — we’re on a 7-1 run!
Julius Randle over 20.5 points (-105)
Julius Randle has been stepping up as a clear and consistent 2nd option for the Timberwolves, managing to score 21 or more points in 4 of the 5 games in their series against the Los Angeles Lakers. And just like Gobert, he should be able to take advantage of the undersized Warriors here. The Warriors have had issues keeping opponents off the free-throw line, allowing more opponent attempts than any other team this postseason. With Randle’s bully-ball style of play, look for him to take advantage of this.
With Draymond Green likely to be occupied by keeping Gobert off the glass, Randle should be afforded more freedom offensively against smaller opponents like Jimmy Butler. He has also been a consistent threat from beyond the arc, making 39.6% of his attempts this postseason. Anthony Edwards has spoken in the past that they need Randle to be more aggressive looking for his shots, look for him to come out firing to set the tone for the series.
Start today’s NBA night with our Pacers vs Cavaliers Same Game Parlay picks for Game 2
Jimmy Butler over 6.5 rebounds (-115)
One of the Warriors who will be best positioned to assist with Golden State’s rebounding issues will be Jimmy Butler. He has stepped up on that front in their last 2 games, managing 9 and 8 rebounds, respectively. Only Steph Curry has as many rebounds over that 2-game stretch on their roster.
The Warriors have been using Butler heavily, with the forward playing over 40 minutes in 4 of the 6 games he appeared in the previous round. Likely tasked with picking up either Anthony Edwards or Julius Randle in this one, that playing time should not drop, giving him more than enough opportunities to collect rebounds. Of the remaining teams in the postseason, only the New York Knicks have a worse true shooting percentage, so there should be no shortage of misses tonight. Butler should grab his fair share of rebounds.
