No game in all of professional sports inspires more betting than the Super Bowl. This year’s installment – Super Bowl 58 between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers – will be no exception. Since the conclusion of the conference championships a week ago, we are basically halfway to the big game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Bets have been coming in hot and heavy in all shapes and sizes on all kinds of different markets, and more of the same will continue over the next 7 days.

Where is the public money going so far? Let’s take a look, with reporting by BetMGM Sportsbook.

Super Bowl 58 early ATS, money line and over/under betting

As of Monday morning, the Chiefs (+2) are bringing in 71 percent of the bets and 73 percent of the money. That means the 49ers (-2) are getting 29 percent of the bets and 27 percent of the money. Nonetheless, the line has not moved and both sides are still priced at -110. That’s because sharp money is coming in on the 49ers and BetMGM — and probably all other books — are happy for loads of amateur money to be backing the Chiefs.

On the money line, Kansas City opened as a +115 underdog. Patrick Mahomes and company are inspiring 82 percent of the bets and 76 percent of the handle. As a result, the Chiefs’ ML price has been bumped down to +110. The 49ers were initially -135 and are now -130. They are incurring 18 percent of the bets and 24 percent of the handle.

The game total, or over/under, opened at 47. It has since climbed to 47.5 because the over is bringing in 67 percent of the bets and 64 percent of the handle (leaving the under at 33 percent and 36 percent, respectively).

It’s a similar story when it comes to the first quarter and first half. The Chiefs are +0.5 underdogs in both of those markets. They are getting 74 percent of the bets and 87 percent of the handle in the first quarter, 76 percent of the bets and 84 percent of the handle in the first half. The over on the 7.5 first-quarter total is inspiring 89 percent of the bets and 92 percent of the handle; it is getting 71 percent of the bets and 70 percent of the handle on the 22.5 first-half total.
