Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another wonderful day of sports! The college football season has concluded, but we now have action in the NBA and NHL to keep you entertained, so let’s get into making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Georgia goes back-to-back
For the first time in over a decade, there is a back-to-back National Champion in college football, as the Georgia Bulldogs demolished TCU 65-7 in one of the largest margins of victory in title-game history. The Bulldogs capped off a perfect season with the win and they’ll open the 2023 season as favorites to bring home a 3rd straight title.

Great night of NBA picks
Our NBA handicappers stayed hot on Monday with another strong showing on sides and totals, finishing a combined 7-3 on the evening. Notable results included a comeback victory for the Bucks over the Knicks, the Pelicans thrashed the Wizards and the Nuggets took care of business against the LeBron-less Lakers.

Road teams dominate NHL action
It was a smaller-than-usual NHL slate on Monday, one that saw the road teams take control. The first 3 games of the evening were all dominated by the visiting team, as the Flyers, Predators and Kraken combined to outscore their opponents 11-0. Pickswise NHL handicapper Mark Lammey is now 9-1 over his last 10 hockey selections, so be on the lookout for his Kraken-Sabres preview today!

Best Bet of the Day

NHL: San Jose Sharks vs Arizona Coyotes Over 6.5 (-105)
9:00 pm ET, ESPN+

The total has gone over in 8 of the Sharks’ last 9 games, and in 7 of their last 8 on the road. The over has also hit in 5 of Arizona’s last 7 games and in 7 of their last 10 at home. Head-to-head the over has hit in 10 of the last 13 overall and 8 of the last 9 played in Arizona. When the Sharks and Coyotes meet, totals climb. Recent trends and team weaknesses indicate those overs trends should only continue. Be sure to check out our full Sharks vs Coyotes predictions.
