Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another fantastic day of sports. With the NCAA Tournament in the midst of a brief hiatus, the NBA and NHL will take the spotlight in today’s slate, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better.

About Last Night

Strange night in the NBA
Monday’s NBA slate was a memorable one and we saw a number of unusual things happen. Julius Randle dropped 54 points at Madison Square Garden, but the Knicks still fell to the Timberwolves at home. Elsewhere, the Grizzlies rallied to defeat the Mavericks, the Bulls upset the Sixers and the Jazz fended off the Kings.

Great night of NHL picks
It was a great Monday in the NHL for the Pickswise handicapping team, as we went 4-1 in our picks on the day. Those results brought us to a mark of 18-7 on sides and totals over the last 3 days of games. The Panthers-Red Wings over 6.5 made our only 3-star hockey pick of the day a winner as well.

Today’s Slate

NBA takes center stage
With March Madness still on temporary hiatus, we’ve got another solid night in the NBA, including a marquee matchup between the Celtics and Kings, plus the Cavaliers take on the reeling Brooklyn Nets. Make sure you read all of today’s NBA predictions.

Massive slate in the NHL
The NHL action rolls on with a jam-packed Tuesday slate that starts with Rangers vs Hurricanes at 7:00 pm ET and concludes with a Knights vs Canucks matchup at 10:00 pm ET. Check out today’s NHL picks.

Best Bet of the Day

NHL: Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (-110) over Montreal Canadiens
7:00 pm ET

The Canadiens haven’t been on the ice since a multi-goal loss to Tampa, which has been the norm for them this season. They’re an abysmal 1-7-2 in their last 10 games and firmly in last place in the Atlantic Division. Meanwhile, the Lightning are firmly in a top 3 spot in the Atlantic. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Tampa is a significant favorite, even on the road. These are simply 2 different calibers of teams, especially since Montreal’s season was all but lost when Cole Caufield was injured. Things haven’t really been close between these teams specifically, either. In the last 3 matchups, the Lightning have stormed through the Canadiens by a combined score of 14-5. Check out our full Lightning vs Canadiens predictions.

Stat of the Day

The Warriors picked up their first win in their last 11 road games by defeating the Rockets on Monday. Golden State is now 8-29 away from the Chase Center this season.
