The battle of Los Angeles takes place at SoFi Stadium on Sunday with the Chargers looking to break through the win column. The Lightning Bolts are off the bye week, while being the only winless team in the league at 0-6 and scoring the fewest points (90). The Rams sit three games behind the 49ers for first place in the NFC West, but are coming off a 35-21 triumph at Las Vegas. Head coach Sean McVay’s squad has yet to win consecutive games this season, losing by four or fewer points in each opportunity. Despite WR Puka Nukua missing several games and WR Davante Adams being sidelined, QB Matthew Stafford leads the NFL in passing yards with 1,989. Stafford threw for 195 yards against the Raiders, his second-fewest yards this season.
The Chargers haven’t been able to get their offense on track with offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel working with QB Justin Herbert. It ranks 32nd in EPA/Pass, 30th in EPA/Rush, and 31st in offensive success rate. Herbert has been held to 5 TD passes this season in six games, compared to 10 TDs in 2025 at this point. What’s even more impressive than the Chargers’ 0-6 record is failing to cover the spread in any of their six losses. The Chargers have lost three of their past four games by eight or fewer points, while coming off their biggest blowout defeat at Kansas City, 22-6 prior to the bye. The Rams lost one game at SoFi Stadium last season, but have already fallen to the Bills and Cardinals at home. Although the Chargers are off the bye, it’s hard to back them considering all their offensive woes against a Rams’ team seeking back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
