Not shockingly, both these AFC squads have struggled in October. Las Vegas’ 3-0 start has evaporated, having lost four straight games capped off by a 35-21 home setback to the Rams last Sunday. The Jets started the season with a victory at Tennessee, but are 1-5 in the past six games, including a 1-3 mark in October. New York couldn’t knock off winless Miami last Sunday in a 28-25 home defeat, as its 25-point outburst was its highest of the season. The Jets have done a solid job slowing down the run, ranking seventh in defensive EPA/Rush. However, New York’s pass defense has struggled, sitting 25th in EPA/Pass, but has given up no more than 208 passing yards in any of its three home games.
The three teams the Raiders have defeated (Dolphins, Chargers, and Saints) are a combined 3-16 this season. In the past four losses, Las Vegas has faced squads with a 19-7 mark, including home setbacks to first-place teams Kansas City and Buffalo. Raiders QB Kirk Cousins sits third in the NFL in passing yards (1,877) despite all the rumors of the veteran potentially getting benched for top pick Fernando Mendoza. Las Vegas has been listed as an underdog in each of the past six games (4-2 ATS) since blowing out Miami as a favorite in Week 1. The Jets are a favorite for the fifth time since 2025, posting a 1-3 ATS mark in their first four opportunities. Both teams are going backwards but the Raiders have been a product of a difficult schedule recently. Let’s back Las Vegas to cash as a short dog against New York.
