To start tonight's NHL parlay, I'm predicting a shootout in Penguins vs Avalanche. The Penguins have lost four straight games while allowing at least three goals on every occasion. Their offense is good, but it hasn't mattered because of the defense. The Avs are allowing just as many goals as the Pens, but Colorado's offense has bailed it out. This high-powered team is averaging just over 30 shots a game.
I'm rounding off this NHL parlay with the Bruins beating the Ducks. Boston is riding a three-game winning streak. Their offense is humming, as they have lit the lamp 17 times during this three-game stretch. At the other end of the ice, goalie Jeremy Swayman is 5-1-0 with a 1.99 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. Moreover, Anaheim could be without two of its top players in Cutter Gauthier and Mikael Granlund, who are both day-to-day.
