The Chicago Blackhawks got Connor Bedard back on the same night as the Frozen Frenzy, and they pulled off one of the bigger upsets by taking down the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-3. Bedard had an assist in his season debut, and now he’ll be looking for even more to come through for some Jets vs Blackhawks predictions.
That same night, we saw the Winnipeg Jets take down the Minnesota Wild 5-2. They remain without star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck -- and speaking of which, he still has one of the shortest odds to win the Vezina Trophy! Regardless, after requesting a trade and then getting suspended, the Jets fly on with Stuart Skinner between the pipes. Therefore, we’re opting to just root for goals with our best Jets vs Blackhawks prediction rather than trust either team to come out on top. Winnipeg is without its star netminder, and we can’t overreact to an overall lackluster Chicago squad just because it was able to pull off the recent upset.
Instead, we’ll just focus on Kyle Connor peppering Blackhawks goalie Spencer Knight and Bedard netting his first goal of the season. Regardless of which Central Division team comes out on top, we’ve got seven or more goals in Chicago.
