I'm kickstarting tonight's NHL parlay by backing Over 5.5 goals in Jets vs Blackhawks. Connor Bedard made his season debut for the Blackhawks on Frozen Frenzy night (all 32 teams playing on Tuesday) and they promptly took down Pittsburgh 5-3. Bedard had an assist in the big victory. As for the Jets, they are still without Connor Hellebuyck. Fortunately for Winnipeg, it has scored at least three goals in five of six games this season. All signs point to a shootout in this one.
Next, let's back the Predators to take care of the Sharks. San Jose (3-3-0) isn't great. This young squad has not yet won a game in regulation. Defense has been the main issue, as the Sharks are allowing 3.83 goals per game. Nashville is playing at home, is a veteran team and boasts a much more experienced goalie in Juuse Saros. The Predators have won nine of the last 10 head-to-head meetings, and that trend should continue tonight.
Mammoth vs Oilers should be a fun one between two teams that are a combined 10-2-1, largely because they are lighting the lamp in a big way. Edmonton leads the entire NHL by scoring 4.83 goals per game, while Utah is not far behind in that department - #4 at 3.86. The Mammoth are #2 in powerplay conversion percentage (34.5); the Oilers are seventh (23.8). Neither team is good at killing penalties, either, so another higher-scoring game should be in the cards and makes the perfect leg to wrap out today's NHL parlay.
