Money Line Pick
MTL Canadiens Win(-170)

The Montreal Canadiens have a chance to close out the Buffalo Sabres and earn a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night. Montreal dominated Game 5 with a convincing 6-3 win, and now they are one win away from facing the Carolina Hurricanes for a trip to the Stanley Cup Final. After such an emphatic win on the road in Game 5, the Habs now get to play Game 6 in front of their home fans. It’s an opportunity I don’t think they are going to squander.

Buffalo has yet to receive a point from both Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs in this series. Both are patrolling Buffalo’s top line, and their lack of offensive contributions has hindered the Sabres’ scoring ceiling. On the other side, Montreal’s top line of Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovsky is firing on all cylinders. Most notably, Caufield has found a groove and has a goal in each of the last 3 games after potting just a single goal over his first 9 playoff games. Furthermore, Montreal goaltender Jakub Dobes has been the more reliable goaltender in this series. He wasn’t great to start Game 5, but he then tallied to make 31 consecutive saves. That should give him plenty of momentum heading into Game 6. Playing at home, look for the Canadiens to get the job done in this one.
