The PGA Tour returns after a one-week break for the low-key Bermuda Championship, where Ben James is a clear favorite on his 11th start since turning professional in June. James has finished no worse than fifth in his last three events and sets the standard, but strong winds look set to batter Port Royal Golf Course over the weekend, and he lacks experience in such conditions. Let's break down my expert golf predictions for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship this week, starting by looking at the odds.

Bermuda Championship odds

Odds courtesy of bet365 and available at time of publishing.

  • Ben James +1150
  • Andrew Novak +2700
  • Chris Kirk +2700
  • Corey Conners +2700
  • Eric Cole +2700
  • Kevin Roy +2700
  • Kevin Yu +3000
  • Rico Hoey +3000
  • Austin Smotherman +3200
  • Seamus Power +3200
  • Ben Kohles +3500
  • Denny McCarthy +3500
  • Neal Shipley +3500
  • Austin Eckroat +3700
  • David Ford +3700
  • Davis Thompson +3700
  • Kris Ventura +3700
  • Max Greyserman +3700
  • Trace Crowe +3700

As mentioned, Ben James is the hot favorite, but the betting is wide open behind him with 18 players all priced between +2700 and +3700. Can James justify favoritism, or will a longshot storm through to win the Bermuda Championship?

Bermuda Championship Best Bet: Seamus Power (+3300)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

While Ben James may struggle in the windy conditions, that is not the case for Seamus Power, who won the 2023 Bermuda Championship and has finished in the top 25 in each of his last four starts at the course.

The Irishman has not had a great year, but two Fall Series starts have resulted in seventh place in the Biltmore Championship and 21st place in the Bank of Utah Championship.

A former top-30 player, Power has always been comfortable in coastal conditions, counting top-six finishes at the Sony Open, Mayakoba, the Heritage and the RSM Classic among his results.

Bermuda Championship Prediction: Chris Kirk (+2800)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Chris Kirk's most recent PGA Tour title came in Hawaii in 2024, and the 41-year-old could win for a seventh time on Sunday.

Kirk is a fine iron player who ranks 14th for strokes gained approach this year, so he will have no problems controlling his ball in the wind. He was eighth at the Rocket Classic in July and has Fall Series form figures of 10-21.

Bermuda Championship Pick: Austin Eckroat (+4900)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Complete a Bermuda triangle with Austin Eckroat, who won his second PGA Tour title at El Cardonal on the Baja California Peninsula in 2024.

Eckroat showed signs that his irons were sparkling again when 24th at the Biltmore, then withdrew from the Bank of Utah to attend the birth of his first child. He was 22nd in Bermuda on his debut in 2022 and is well equipped for this course.
