What’s not to like about Gary Woodland heading into the weekend at the Honda Classic? Well, the fact that he may have Tommy Fleetwood to contend with may be one negative factor–but that’s about it. The 35-year-old American finds himself tied for fifth place at 3-under par through two rounds, two strokes behind leader Brendan Steele. That Woodland is in contention is no surprise. He finished runner-up at this event in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. three years ago and was also in contention last season before fading on Sunday. The reigning U.S. Open champion posted a T12 finish at last week’s World Golf Championship in Mexico, so he was confident going into the Honda. Fleetwood (currently 2-under) and Woodland are the two clear favorites going into the weekend. It could develop into a two-main race, and right now Woodland has better value at +600 than Fleetwood at +400.

How to Bet on Golf
Most bettors are familiar with NFL picks and NBA wagers but something that is really gaining steam in the betting world is PGA picks. PGA predictions rely mainly on odds wagering – you pick a golfer you like and if he or she wins your payout is 2/1, 12/1, 25/1, etc.
Golf picks odds are calculated based on a number of factors such as past history at the course, recent tournament trends, and arguably most important is how the public views that play. Don’t expect great odds on public favorite Tiger Woods in a big name tournament such as U.S. Open golf predictions or Masters expert picks. At the same time if a popular golfer like Woods is down there at 20:1, a win is a long shot because it would cost books so much money.
Types of Golf Bets
Odds bets on PGA tour picks this week are far from the only type of golf wager available – although they are the most popular. PGA picks can also be made on individual golfers and whether they will shoot ‘over’ or ‘under’ a certain score for that round. Frequent British Open picks and U.S. Open golf predictions are also on what the winning margin will be.
There are also golf predictions on whether their will be a hole-in-one during the tournament or who the top amateur will be. Head-to-head odds are also available such as will Phil Mickelson (+145) have a better score than Dustin Johnson (-180). This is a frequent type of wager for majors during British Open predictions and PGA Championship picks.

Golf Betting Strategies
One of the biggest allures of PGA betting is that a win by a high underdog player can be like a lottery ticket. Billy McRandom winning a Masters expert pick at 300:1 can provide a life-changing return on investment. Just know that wins like that are extremely rare though.
The best strategies for PGA predictions is to try and find a golfer who has shot well either recently or at the specific course. That doesn’t always mean winning, but top 10 finishes where the golfer may just be a tweak or two away can be a sign of future success.
Many wagerers find more success with PGA betting on the weekend rather than the start of the tournament. You will have had a couple days to see how a player likes the course and the field will be dwindled as well – but so will the odds.
