The first fight on the Main Card at UFC on ESPN 66 will see Ikram Aliskerov take on Andre Muniz. This will be a fight in the UFC Middleweight division. Aliskerov enters this fight with an MMA record of 15-2 and 3-1 in the UFC. He averages 7.03 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 60%. Aliskerov absorbs 7.27 strikes and has a striking defense of 36%. His grappling has also been solid, averaging 1.82 takedowns every 15 minutes and 1.8 submission attempts during the same period. He has a takedown accuracy of 33% and has not had to defend a takedown so far in the UFC.

Muniz enters this fight with an MMA record of 24-6 and 8-2 in the UFC. He averages 1.97 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 50%. Muniz absorbs 1.99 strikes and has a striking defense of 54%. His grappling has been elite, averaging 4.23 takedowns every 15 minutes and 1.2 submission attempts during the same period. He has a takedown accuracy of 50% and a takedown defense of 35%.

Aliskerov is one of the biggest favorites on this card, so we will be looking for this fight to go over 1.5 rounds instead. Muniz has seen each of his last 4 fights go over 1.5 rounds, so even though Aliskerov has seen all of his UFC fights end in Round 1, backing this fight to go over 1.5 rounds will be our lean, as Muniz has been able to last multiple rounds in the majority of his recent fights.

Fight to go the Distance(-200)

The second fight on the Main Card at UFC on ESPN 66 will see Randy Brown take on Nicolas Dalby. This will be a fight in the UFC Welterweight division. Brown enters this fight with an MMA record of 19-6 and 13-6 in the UFC. He averages 4.25 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 47%. Brown is absorbing 3.24 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 54%. His grappling has been decent, averaging 0.81 takedowns every 15 minutes. His takedown accuracy is 39%, and his takedown defense is 73%.

Dalby enters this fight with an MMA record of 23-5-1 and 7-4-1 in the UFC. He averages 4.06 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 43%. Dalby is absorbing 3.52 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 52%. Like Brown, his grappling has been decent, averaging 1.01 takedowns every 15 minutes. His takedown accuracy is 27%, and his takedown defense is 58%.

Brown is the heavy favorite, so we will be looking at this fight to go the distance instead. Dalby has seen 6 of his last 7 UFC fights go the distance, while Brown has seen 5 of his last 7 UFC fights do the same. For this reason, also backing this fight to go the distance will be our lean.

Magomedov Win(+120)

The third fight on the Main Card at UFC on ESPN 66 will see Michel Pereira take on Abus Magomedov. This will be a fight in the UFC Middleweight division. Pereira enters this fight with an MMA record of 31-12 and 9-3 in the UFC. He averages 4.46 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 53%. Pereira absorbs 4.23 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 52%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 1.27 takedowns every 15 minutes. Pereira has a takedown accuracy of 52% and a takedown defense of 76%.

Magomedov enters this fight with an MMA record of 27-6-1 and 3-2 in the UFC. He averages 2.65 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 44%. Magomedov absorbs 3.35 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 55%. His grappling has been elite, averaging 3.12 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 64% and a takedown defense of 100%.

Pereira is the slight favorite, but Magomedov looks to be a solid betting option to pull off the upset. Magomedov may not have a great UFC record thus far, but he is an elite grappler. This proved to be Pereira’s weakness in his most recent fight, as he was taken down 10 times by Anthony Hernandez in a fight he ended up losing. Because of this, Magomedov should have some success on the mat, which is why we are backing Magomedov to win.

Onama Win(-180)

The fourth fight on the Main Card at UFC on ESPN 66 will see Giga Chikadze take on David Onama. This will be a fight in the UFC Featherweight division. Chikadze enters this fight with an MMA record of 15-4 and 8-3 in the UFC. He is averaging 3.92 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 42%. Chikadze is absorbing 3.50 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 61%. His grappling has not been strong, averaging 0.21 takedowns every 15 minutes. Further, he has a takedown accuracy of 33% and a takedown defense of 70%.

Onama enters this fight with an MMA record of 13-2 and 5-2 in the UFC. He is averaging 5.60 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 50%. Onama is absorbing 5.07 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 52%. His grappling has been decent, averaging 0.73 takedowns every 15 minutes. Further, he has a takedown accuracy of 20% and a takedown defense of 52%.

Onama is the moderate-sized favorite but still looks to be a decent betting option. He has the clear edge in striking and takedown volume, plus he is in much better form, winning his last 3 UFC fights in a row. For that reason, backing Onama will be our lean.

Round Prop Pick
Fight to Start Round 2(+100)

The Co-Main Event at UFC on ESPN 66 will see Anthony Smith take on Zhang Mingyang. This will be a fight in the UFC Light Heavyweight division. Smith enters this fight with an MMA record of 38-21 and 15-13 in the UFC. He is averaging 3.20 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 49%. Smith is absorbing 4.88 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 45%. His grappling is not nearly as strong, averaging 0.44 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 23% and a takedown defense of 50%.

Mingyang enters this fight with an MMA record of 18-6 and 3-0 in the UFC. He averages 8.57 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 55%. Mingyang absorbs 5.59 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 53%.

Mingyang is the huge favorite, so we will look for this fight to start Round 2 instead. Smith, while having been inconsistent recently, has seen 5 of his last 6 UFC fights start Round 2. Of course, Mingyang has won all of his UFC fights in Round 1, but Smith is arguably his toughest opponent so far and certainly will not make it easy for him. For that reason, backing this fight to start Round 2 will be our best bet.

Prates Win(+110)

The Main Event at UFC on ESPN 66 will see Ian Machado Garry take on Carlos Prates. This will be a fight in the UFC Welterweight division. Garry enters this fight with an MMA record of 15-1 and 8-1 in the UFC. He averages 4.72 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 54%. Garry is absorbing 2.82 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 52%. His grappling is also decent, averaging 0.74 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 54% and a takedown defense of 73%.

Prates enters this fight with an MMA record of 21-6 and 5-0 in the UFC. He is averaging 4.39 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 57%. Prates is absorbing 4.60 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 48%. He has shown little grappling ability, averaging just 0.44 takedowns every 15 minutes. That said, he has a takedown accuracy of 100% and a takedown defense of 91% as a takedown defense of 91%.

Garry is the small favorite, but Prates looks to be a solid option to pull the upset. Prates has won all 5 of his UFC fights by KO/TKO and has incredibly powerful punches, whereas Garry is coming off his first loss and does not finish many of his opponents. Garry does have the edge in striking volume, but this is likely because Prates has yet to see any of his UFC fights go past the second round. Because of the power Prates has shown in the UFC, backing him to win will be our best bet.

UFC Picks Explained

There are many different types of UFC picks, with countless ways to bet on this weekend’s UFC action. As with most sports, the easiest and simplest form of UFC pick is the Moneyline. A UFC Moneyline pick is a pick on who you think will win the fight, the method is irrelevant, be it TKO/KO, submission, or on the judge’s scorecard, whoever has their arm raised is the Moneyline winner. Other popular UFC Picks include the Method Of Victory and an over/under on the number of rounds the fight will last. Aside from these, there are many other props available ranging from Strikes Landed, Number Of Takedowns, or Will The Fight Go The Distance. Here at Pickswise, our expert UFC handicappers are on hand to find the best UFC Picks for all of this week’s action. Check out our latest UFC Picks above.

UFC Pick Em

A UFC Pick Em can mean one of two things, either the sportsbooks have each fighter with the same odds, a bit like in the NFL, when the spread is 0, or it could mean a contest whereby you have to pick the winner of each fight, in effect the Moneyline winner. Our UFC picks and the insight and analysis in particular that we offer alongside them can be used in both of these circumstances. We offer our experts’ view on the fight including the outcome, including those Moneyline UFC pick-em spots, and also on all of the other top UFC action. With our in-depth previews and picks, you can also use these as the basis for your UFC Pick Em contest too. Whatever you need, Pickswise will have you covered with all things UFC, from the best picks to the latest UFC betting news. We help you to Bet better.

UFC DFS Picks

Our UFC picks are also great for your UFC DFS picks. Each of our picks, which gives our idea of the winner, comes with key stats and analysis as to why we like a certain fighter in that spot. With points scored for strikes, takedowns, finishes, and more, all of this will be found in our previews, along with the fighters’ previous fight stats for all of those categories. When Are Your UFC Picks Posted

Our UFC Picks are typically posted just after the weigh-ins which usually take place the day before the fight. Waiting until this point allows us to maximize the information we can obtain from the Fight Week clues. One of the UFC’s biggest strengths as an organization and a big proponent of its success is the access in which it gives the media surrounding an event. Both fighters will be made available to the media on fight week and as are the weigh-ins. In both of these instances, you can get both physical and verbal clues as to how the fighter’s camp, weight cut, and preparation have gone over the previous 6-8 weeks. Of course, a fighter isn’t going to give his or her game plan away in its entirety, but even slight clues in their answers, or seeing the shape they are in at the weigh-in can be performance indicators for the weekend. All of this is considered right up until the time we post our picks, as we want to ensure we have all of the available information to make the most informed and best free UFC picks out there.
